Just returned from four nights at the Crown Plaza. Lovely hotel and the refurbished rooms are excellent, definitely 5 star. However the breakfast is awful. Poor quality products including no fresh orange juice, cheap cereals, the breakfast tea bags are appalling quality. Very poor limited choice of breakfast items. It is a shame because it is a lovely hotel but is let down by penny pinching over breakfast items. Overall 5 star bedrooms but 1 star breakfast. This was the overall opinion off all our group and other guests whom we spoke to.

Great hotel, really nice staff, lovely resort with the Marina and Casino within 5 minutes stroll. All in all, we cannot fault the whole experience.

Unbelievable! We expected a 5* experience and got nothing but bad manners, bad food and a big bill! The food is what we wanted to experience, but from cold limp vegtables, cold soup, rubbery meats and uncooperative staff, the whole stay just left us miserable. The staff were put out when we spoke to them, they actually rolled their eyes when we said what the food was like. They seemed to take advantage of,the aging clientele by serving up whatever they wanted and took no care in presentation or pleasing their customers. A shocking experience that shouldnt go untold!

Nice hotel, quiet location, spacious rooms. We only stayed B&B selection for breakfast very minimal, not usual 5* standard. Please we did not book half board as there are far too many lovely restaurants to choose from. We would go backto Vilamoura but not to this hotel

I must admit I feel awful, as I really like to focus on the positive when writing a review, but on this occasion it is not possible. At the time of booking, Crowne Plaza was no 1 on tripadvisor, that is why we booked it, so I feel I must give a genuine and honest opinion of my stay. We have just returned from a 5 night stay and have to say we did not enjoy our stay. We were celebrating our 25th Anniversary whilst there and had emailed the hotel ahead to inform. On our arrival the first thing the reception did was offer us a upgrade to a suite we had booked a delux/seaview room.. how lovely, we thought, but no, this was no kind gesture for our anniversary, this was just everyday sales talk offered to every guest. Because of the occasion we decided to upgrade anyway (had to pay of course) The rooms are lovely, but this is all the hotel has to rely on. The customer service is non existent.

Never have I stayed in a hotel where this has happened. We always stay 5*, this is by no means anywhere near 5* service. On the day of our anniversary not one member of staff acknowledged this. We thought at least it may have come up on screen in our room, or reception/breakfast staff may have wished us a happy anniversary, especially as we had made them aware before hand. No complimentary bottle of bubbly or anything, even though we did have cards etc up in our room, the cleaner must have been aware but as far as the Crowne Plaza was concerned just another day, very disappointing.
It didnt help that the weather was not good, I appreciate this was not the hotel's fault, but on the one day the sun did shine, we couldnt find any pool towels/mattress etc, no staff on hand to help. We eventually got settled with the help of other guests, once again no staff on hand for drinks food or anything. We left the beds to go and get a drink at around 3pm, but must admit we didnt return as weather changed. Can you believe we actually looked over our balcony the next morning after breakfast, and the cushions and towels were exactly as we had left them the day before, unbelieveable, so were everyone else's, nothing had been tidied or cleaned away.

No such thing as asking for champagne glasses to take to room (wont let you), No late vacation of room on last day, hotel always full (yeah right!!!), No spare room for guests to get showered or freshened up, we were told to use shower in the pool area. I could go on forever, so very disappointing, was pleased to get home. The Crowne Plaza definately do not put themselves out to make your stay welcome, we overheard guests complaining many times throughout our visit. Would definatetly not go back to this hotel, Sorry Manager I will not be giving you another opportunity to prove me wrong.

Regarding the champagne glasses, if the champagne was acquired at the hotel or if you asked the room service, then, no fee would be charged.
Yes, the hotel has a very good occupancy rate.
