Description: Sanpa is a small organic family business; growing with customer demands and feedback. I started off on my own selling extra virgin olive oil and fried tomato. The shop used to be located right at the end of Peach street with nothing more than boxes of olive oil and tomatoes. Growth has had to be modest, being entirely reliant on ourselves. Coffee was one of the first requests and investments after the olive oil and tomatoes. We wanted to offer people decent coffee, as this is standard in Spain and in many other parts of the continent. Paella Friday, shortly became a tradition and still is at the new premises. Over time, our customers have voiced how they'd like to go for a coffee, a glass of wine, eat something and not break the bank, but eat and drink well. This is how we see ourselves at this stage. Now we are able to offer a small selection of tapas during the day and a set menu in the evenings. We are thankful to our customers constructive feedback and look forward to our unwritten future.

Last minute family gathering. We did not want to go in to Reading and had intended to try a pizza place or Nando's in Wokingham. Due to the road works we ended up here. On entry it was empty at 6.30pm. Our gain as by 7.30pm it was packed and we did not book. Service was good and friendly. We had no idea about the size of the plates and the cooked meats one was massive. The rest were ok but of reasonable size and quality. We enjoyed our night out which offered something different in Wokingham to the rest. A number of dishes on the menu were lunch time only which was annoying. We also asked for chips which turned out to be Potatoes cubes for a young guest.
Do not expect to get your Spainish holiday dishes in here which is worrying.

We went to Sanpa for dinner tonight as only one of us had been before, and I would definitely recommend it. We were a table of 4 adults and we decided to try most of the tapas dishes, little piggies... the chorizo were lovely little individual sausages rather than a large one sliced, which was a nice idea and very tender meat. The ham and bechmel Croquettes were delicious as were the garlic prawns and patatas bravas. The meat and cheese platter was nice and the meat balls were good but probably my least favourite dish- mainly because the others were so good, not that there was anything wrong with them. We shared 1 portion of the chicken fajitas between us which were tasty and the chicken nicely seasoned. But my favourite dish by far was the goats cheese with a jam- just delicious with the bread. We then finished it off by sharing the brownies with mango ice cream- really nice and not too sickly or heavy after dinner, and also the churros. I have seen some baldish reviews on here about the chytrid but they are just a different type- I'd say they are homemade by the look of them as they are slightly fat dough sticks, different to the usual ones you get in other restaurants but still nice. The chocolate dip is like hot chocolate and there is so much of it I'm sure you could just drink it after if you were so inclined.... good cava too. As you can tell, we thoroughly enjoyed our food! It was a Tuesday night so not particularly busy although there were a number of tables occupied. This meant we possibly had a better experience as the food wasn't rushed at all and came out at a nice slower pace. The waiter was lovely (I think he was French), very friendly and helpful.

12 work colleagues booked for 17:30. We were brought heavy/doughy bread. We’d all ordered the £20 tapas menu as we were informed they couldn’t cope with any choices. We were approx 1/2 & 1/2 veggies/meat eaters. Veggies had individual starters of basically shredded lettuce & cheese, non-veggies had acceptable cold meats & cheese. Next came some ok croquettes, what followed were large bowls of what looked like tinned mushrooms in a garlic butter, looked & smelled revolting. I didn’t try them, there were lots left. Then came huge dishes, individual, of stodgy paella, either with chicken wings, with very little chicken on them, or peppers. No one did more than try theirs & at that point a complaint was made. How was that tapas? It was at best average & at worst quite horrible. We did get £5 each off the fixed cost & the offer of some desert. We just wanted to leave, all never to return. The owner should try proper tapas sometime

This is a bit late but I attended Gwynneth’s Birthday celebrations too and wanted to share that we were so well looked after that night. The staff were brilliant and the food was lovely.
Not the first time I’ve visited, I’ve always had a good experience and love how welcoming everyone is- nothing is too much trouble.
Many thanks Emilio and team x
