Even though the furnace was not working. The whole place was just brilliant.
Really enjoyed the film, the exhibits, the mirror maze, the tunnel walk.
But most of all the staff were AMAZING.
Imagine 5 loud families, loads of kids, and still they couldn't do enough to make our visit so enjoyable.
Well done st Helens world if glass

Had a nice morning at the World of Glass. Ideal for a rainy day and worth the entrance fee. Art Gallery, glass blowing demonstration, glass through the ages museum and over the canal you can see how the furnaces worked in an old furnace building. Nice cafe serving snacks and food. Really enjoyed our visit and worth seeing part of our industrial history.

Educational, interesting, fun, and more! Permanent exhibition about the history of the town is a little tired, but really informative. Beautiful collection of glass from across the world. The glass blowing demonstration is great, very skilful! There is a interesting film about glass. The restaurant is basic but very good value and has a pleasing aspect next to the canal. The temporary exhibitions are always interesting.

Really friendly welcome by the staff we spent a very interesting 3 hours here. Lots more to see than we first thought and excellent food in the cafe. Worth a look its 5 mins from the Central railway station. The glassblowing demonstration was informative and very well done .

What a great experience!

The WOG has a onsite cafe, art gallery, shop, museum, Victorian glass furnace and then the modern glass furnace, which you can either view a live glass blowing demo or pay to take part in a workshop.

Half day session is £99 and you get to make a bauble or pay £160 for a full day and make a paperweight, an bauble and either a vase or bowl, you then get to keep all the 3 pieces you make.

Nicky the artist/teacher was absolutely amazing. Very encouraging and engaging, she helps you all the way through the workshop.

One thing which was disappointing was that we had paid £320 in total for a 2 persons full day workshop, which was interrupted as the venue staff had booked in a live demo for other museum visitors, meaning that our session had to be interrupted causing us to loose time on our workshop.

If your paying so much money for a private class then you should get the full day as advertised.
