I have been staying at this hotel since my daughter got married in Malta in 2006 and the service and quality of the hotel is always the same- superb.
The concierge welcomed my wife and I as though we were long lost relatives, the receptionist did a very impressive sign in process and we were in our room in 10 minutes.
All of the staff in this hotel without exception are helpful friendly and efficient and nothing is too much trouble.
The General Manager Adrian is also very amiable and makes it his business to be out and about talking to guests and making them welcome.

Room Tip: Get a room with a sea view fantastic

This was the third time that we had stayed in Bay Point, the previous time being several years ago so we were interested to see if anything had changed. However, everything was just as before with a few improvements to the general upkeep of the resort. We were part of a large family group and we were looked after very well. We received a complimentary drink on arrival whilst we were sorting out rooms. The room itself was a good size with an excellent sea view, albeit a rough sea for some of the time. The room had a good size sofa and a table and chair as well as table and chairs on the balcony. The TV was alright, we hadn't seen a TV of that age for a while, most hotels seem to have gone over to plasma or LCD by now. Anyway we had Sky News and BBC World as well as the range of main European channels along with Aljazeera. There is a room safe in one of the wardrobes, tea and coffe making facilties and a mini-bar. The bathroom was fine with a shower over a bath. There is a drying cord that can be pulled out over the bath if you need it. There were four lifts (elevators), although one didn't seem to be working. Remember that its floor 2 for Reception and the main entrance, Ritter's Bar, Bridge Bar and Bistro and floor 1 for the Kon Tiki Restaurant, gym, spa, indoor and outdoor pools. There is a Concierge Service adjacent to Reception. As we had quite a few transportation needs, being a large group, the Concierge staff were used regularly to book shuttle buses, arrange mini-bus hire, executive car hire etc. Victor Cachia in particular was most helpful to our group, even taking the family group photographs. The shuttle bus runs regularly into Sliema and Valletta but pre-booking is advised. There are 3 outdoor pools; 2 of them seawater pools and a children's pool. It is possible to swim in the sea using a metal ladder into the water or by diving in. There is an outdoor bar and The Edge restaurant. You can also book watersports and have diving lessons too. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of food on offer whether you wanted a cooked breakfast, cold meats, cheese, cereals, fruit or whatever. It really sets you up for a good day's sightseeing.

It is only a 10-15 minute walk into St George's Bay where there is a beach, shopping area and restaurants such as McDonalds and Hard Rock Cafe, along with a variety of other offerings, night clubs, bars, ten-pin bowling and cinema.

So, it was nice to come back to Bay Point; we have now stayed a total of 5 weeks at the hotel and really enjoy the place, its situation and the friendliness of the staff. We look forward to returning again, we just hope it won't be so long this time.

Room Tip: Go for a sea view if you like watching all the boats go by.

Other reviewers have covered the main points: excellent breakfast, good position, pleasant views from all bedrooms. The general consensus appears to be that although everything is "good" the 5 star status is perhaps a little optimistic. This may be so but the staff are certainly worth their 5 stars!

My wife fell on the first day of a seven night stay and broke an ankle and wrist. On being discharged from hospital in a very delicate state on the fourth day the hotel staff could not have been more helpful, especially Marika Abela, the guest relations manager, and Victor the concierge. Marika arranged for more comfortable furniture in our room and even sent up a large gift of fruit. Victor sourced a wheelchair and walking frame from the town and had them delivered to our room, and collected again after we left.

You expect all hotels to run smoothly but the proof of the pudding is how the staff react to the unusual and to an emergency. They came through with flying colours and if for no other reason I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel without reservation.

overall a very good hotel experience - very welcoming and helpful staff, good breakfast and decent room. we had sea view room and paid extra for it but worth it as view was great (see picture). Room was a little lacking in luxury finish i would expect from a true 5 star, pretty basic bathroom, shower over tub and not a true double bed just 2 singles pushed together. Having said that staff are defiantly 5 start level.

location is good if you like it quiet and peaceful - which we did. Its a 15min walk down to paceville area which i'd avoid if at all possible. another 10mins from there gets you to Spinola bay in st Julians which is much nicer and has some good restaurants and bars over looking the harbour.

St julians area in general is ok not really to our taste too built up but nice for a short break.

Room Tip: Sea view is worth the money as otherwise could be looking over car park.
