Celebrated my 21st birthday with a dinner at two buoys and was really happy, I got a full vegan meal with starter, main course and dessert with my family, who was super happy with the fish of the day! Will definately recommend them and come back

First visit to The Two Buoys Bistro, we where a party of 17 People, so its a good test.

The service was excellent, fast and polite. As the title of this review says -
Good food, great location, that is exactly what it is.

Food lovely, location really picturesque especially on a clear night.

Me and my partner booked this restaurant for a special occasion whilst on holiday. We booked the middle table overlooking the bay. The setting is lovely and the place has a classy ambiance about it. When we arrived we where shown to another table next to an air conditioning unit that was noisy and hot. I said to the waiter we had booked the middle table overlooking the bay. He said i don't know anything about that and said we should take it up with the waiter we booked the table with. Unhappy with his response we asked if we could be moved to another table. He went away to find out came back and moved us to another table. with an obscured view of the bay and in the middle of people who where later in the meal smoking!! The food was average and the food and wine where overpriced. We left the restaurant having had a very disappointing evenings meal

This was our third visit.
Food is very good and the views excellent too.
Saturday.
Sometimes we got the feeling the staff lacked direction (no overall line management).

The art connection is not exploited to the full here.

Will return.

Good place also for vegans and vegetarians too.

Good home-made deserts.

Some nice wines.

Thank Paul J

Having read the review posted on the 30 Aug 2018, “Could easily have been 5*” this sounded like a one-off occurrence. However, I’m now not so sure ...
The food was good, but the wait to get it after ordering was unbelievable.
The restaurant wasn’t busy, but everyone seemed to be asking the same question, “How long is it going to be before we get our food?” Our mussels in white wine took over an hour to get to our table, after being told 3 or 4 times that it’ll be with us in 5 minutes ...
Most of the staff came and apologised at some point throughout the evening, but all seemed to have slightly different versions of why there was a delay; something had broken in the kitchen ... a member of the kitchen left unexpectedly ... the ninth member of a table turned up an hour late ... our starter had been given to another table...
The wait for the main course wasn’t too bad at all, this being overshadowed by the fact that my wife’s pasta was covered in Parmesan, after having made it very clear that she was dairy intolerant. The waitress was apologetic and insisted that she would get a new dish, not just the cheese removed... she would personally take care of this, even if the chef threatened to chop her head off. As you can probably guess, the latter occurred, the dish returning to the table 30 seconds after it left! Thankfully, the waitress’ head remained attached to her body!!
There were a few positive points to the evening:
1) the food was actually quite tasty
2) a round of drinks and the mussels were taken off the bill, making it a reasonably priced dinner
3) the entertainment the front of house provided was outstanding; the myriad excuses as to why the food was delayed, the ongoing saga of the chef threatening to kill them and a very unusual anecdote about a hotel, a lift, some champagne and Tripadvisor ...
Go if you don’t mind a huge wait for food and, like me, enjoy accidental comedy provided by the front of house staff. Don’t go if you enjoy a slick dining experience.
