“Nice hotel, but watch out for the bartender.”

One night stay with a party. Nice hotel and good service.
One exception was the bar they made for our party; different prices on all items and trying to trick people with wrong drinks. Tried to mix a long island icetea and put Contreu instead of something he did not have. Asked him about it and he admitted it. Horrible barservice
Room service great and smiling staff.

This is one of my favourite business hotel stays, even though it is usually only for one nights. The Hotel is steeped in local history, shipping connections and oozes class but not OTT expense. The older rooms to the left of the enterance are just wonderful. large, classy but recently upgraded I think. The only complaint I have is that the plugs are all hidden, where do you plug in your laptop or phone charger without moving the desk etc.

Have also stayed in the newer rooms, mostly used for conference guests. They are smaller, a bit of a trek from reception, but adequate.

This last visit there were about 4 conferences going on at the same time and this was handled well, no queues, delays and service was excellent.

Room Tip: All rooms are of a excellent standard, I prefer the old section but if you are part of a conference...

I was here for two and a half weeks in a small room adequate for my needs. A clean bathroom, a window that opens out (the breeze in that town was wonderful) and a TV which had english language stations.

The breakfast buffet consisted of a really healthy diet. It was in line with the Norwegian Olympians diet. Breakfast started early, at 6am, the right way to start the day.

This hotel is near my favourite restaurant in Sandefjord, Kokeriet, and walking there everyday was a joy.

The town isn't very big, so walking everywhere (even to the Jotun headquarters) was no biggie. A lovely place to stay in Sandefjord.

(p/s: I didn't stay here in September of 2010, it was September of 2009 but Trip Advisor wouldn't go back another year)

Room Tip: Ask for the old wing if you like the rustic charm, the new wing for more modern amenities

Stayed at the Rica Park for a business/pleasure trip a few days ago, the hotel is nice enough but could use some renos and updates. It is quite stuffy and outdated in some areas and the restaurants and pubs are far too quite as they don't play any music and the lights are always turned down low.

The rooms are very small and the temperature throughout the building is kept very warm which makes it hard to sleep at night. Also the gym is above the pool so is VERY hot and humid (be sure to bring a water bottle or two!!)

All of that being said the staff are very friendly and the breakfast buffet (which is included) was awesome!! The gym is quite well outfitted and the pool area is lovely and even has a wee cafe inside. If we came back to the area we would stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for a larger room if possible

This has to be the best hotel in Sandejford. From check in to check out the service was great. My wife and I did a two night stay on a family visit and found the hotel perfect in almost every way. A central location with views over the harbour (ask this specifically at time of booking) we asked for a high floor for the views. I must add that from the outside the hotel looks like an old warehouse, but its not and the interior is very well decorated. It is spotlessly clean and comfortable. The beds come out as the best I have ever stayed in for comfort and sleep quality.
Breakfast was a grand affair with every kind of food imaginable and all of good quality, hot and fresh.
The only downside if you like to sleep with your windows open was the noise from the main road at the rear and side of the hotel. This was particularly noisy on the Friday night till about 2am when it all seemed to go quiet. Again ask for a room overlooking the park or harbour and it may be quieter!
Otherwise I would recommend this hotel, a little pricey but you do get what you pay for!
