A lovely getaway in the rainforest. Well presented property and very clean.

The property has a Balinese type feel about it.

The website has some very garish colorful photos of the rooms, but they're not so garish in real life. I loved staying here.

Awesome friendly hosts, who gave fantastic local knowledge of what was a must see.

Wish we could've stayed longer. So peaceful.

There's wifi right near the reception, but we decided we didn't need it. , if you're going to the Daintree to sit on your phone and Facebook, you'll be disappointed. we had no mobile reception for the most of the Daintree area (north of the ferry), it was refreshing to not have internet access for 24 hrs

Put your phone away, relax and listen to the wildlife. We even ran into a Cassowary a kilometre from the motel. (We stopped before we hit it) it looked at us and meandered on his way. Amazing

Photo is of one of the locals next to the reception pond at night.

Stayed One Night August 26, 2016

Manager overtly helpful advised of restaurants, hidden gems to see - went out of his way to be accommodating.

Pool is clean, rooms are pristine and nice quaint location. Across the road is excellent reasonable food/beverages @ Cow Bay Hotel.

Highly recommended and manager is outstanding and what you do not see so much these days - very helpful and accommodating even looked to phone around for us when our Port Douglas fishing charter was cancelled to inquire locally about fishing charters.

All in all Stellar Accommodations lots of wildlife right on premise...

This was without doubt the friendliest welcome of anywhere we stayed in Australia. We had a family unit, which was very clean, functional and good value. We were able to self-cater, as there was a full size fridge and microwave and outside there is a communal bbq, with gas burner and picnic benches. It's a good location - an easy 30 minute drive up to Cape Trib, with plenty of other attractions even nearer. The sounds of the rainforest were amazing, although be warned the fruit bats dropping their fruit on the tin roof at night can be loud at times!

I loved staying here.

Trevor, the owner, is so helpful with everything. I felt completely informed about what to do and where to go straight away.

The room was perfect and very comfortable and right in the rainforest.

I think the location is the best on the Cape for a few reasons.

Cow bay is nearby and it's one of the best beaches.

The Rainforest Center is just up the road which is a great place to have a coffee by the flowing stream.

And it also means a really beautiful drive each day through the rainforest... Meaning you get to do two or three bridges that cross beautiful creeks every day.

There is also more chance for spotting a Cassowary! I saw four.

I spent a week Cape Trib. Two days out of the week I went into Cairns for some exploring. I recommend using Cape Trib as the base just as I did.

Spending extra time in the rainforest is a beautiful experience. Much better than just a day or two.

My tip is to take your time there.... Go slow, walk around... Touch and feel the rainforest.

It's a very healing place. I had a special time there and the Rainforest Retreat was so central to my experience... I will be back for sure.
