We really enjoyed our trip to The Royal Mint Experience. The highlight for my kids was getting the opportunity to actually strike a coin in the factory (which you can then keep). In addition to the informative guides there are interactive touch screens, videos and museum pieces showcasing the fascinating history of the The Royal Mint over the past 1000 years. There is also a cafe and a well stocked shop where I bought an exclusive silver twenty pound coin with the Welsh dragon on it as a souvenir. We also had a photo taken in the factory surrounded by cases of the new 12 sided £1 which won't be going into circulation until 2017. The Royal Mint Experience is educational and good fun for all the family.
The Royal Mint Experience is a really interesting place to learn about the history of coins and how they are made. The tour is fantastic and there are lots of interactive things to amuse all ages. I was blown away and I work there!
