We were very kindly taken here for Sunday lunch by my son in law's parents. We had a fantastic lunch with good menu selection served by very pleasant staff in their recently opened extension which has lovely décor using tartans and muted tweed on the seats. Outside, through the windows you can see the many tables and chairs for outdoor eating and to the well built play area.

Room Tip: I am sure they will be of the same high standard as the rest of the hotel

We stayed just for one evening as we had an event to go to in Carlisle. As neither of us were drinking, it wasn't an issue staying just outside of Carlisle. Even if you were drinking, I can't imagine a taxi being too expensive.

When we arrived our room wasn't quite ready so we were offered a free drink while we waited. I thought that was a kind offer and fully appreciated as we'd just spent 2 hours in the car.
We also decided to have some food too and opted for the steak manwich. It was incredibly tasty and the service was quick.

The room was so lovely. The decor was gorgeous and had a warm cottage feel to it. A huge bathroom also and basic room facilities.

In the morning we were treated to a full English and the usual breakfast bits you'd expect to find. Again, with great service.

All in all, a lovely hidden place with friendly staff and good service.
We will definitely return if we're in the area.

We all ate here as a celebration and the food was really nice. The local steak pie they serve is really good. Bought in from a local butchers. Very very tasty.. the steak was also very good too. The place was very busy (Good Sign) and we were catered for very quickly. The staff were very helpful too bringing drinks for us all regularly. We didn't wait too long between courses which was great as we had children with us. Very nice smart looking pub that is kept spotless. In a lovely location with a very nice tranquil seating area outside. Also a nice little outdoor play area to keep the kids occupied as you relax.. the prices were a little high yet you get what you pay for i suppose. Looking forward to coming bk on a nice summers day..

What a lovely place, so modern and fresh, the staff were just lovely. They allow dogs too and were very friendly and accommodating to that. We had a great lunch. We will definitely be back soon. We recommend the Manwich!!

Room Tip: Just went to the bar for food so not sure, sorry!
