I was surprised by what I saw as a tiny little detached Studio. Inside everything was so well placed and very roomy. almost tardis like.LOL
The breakfast supplies were in the fridge a fresh loaf wrapped on the bench and the Gas logfire already warming the space and very welcoming.
Coffee of many varieties and tea , cereal and fruit and yoghurt, eggs in a basket and bacon, the whole packet..and a large bottle of real milk.
It was a welcome place to be at the end of the school holidays for myself and a dear friend and Totally worth it for the price.
The beds and linens were superb and plenty of towels available as well.
We stayed here just for one night in the Studio. It's a lovely place tucked against the hills but with a beautiful view of the sea. The Studio is so unique with barn doors and a gorgeous window seat (big enough to sleep on if you wanted to.) Lovely provisions were provided for our breakfast - cereals, eggs, bacon, yoghurt, soft fresh bread, orange juice.. Just lovely. We BBQ'd the night we were there and everything you could need was available - lovely big outdoors umbrella as well to keep the hot sun off us. We used the spa which is very private. Lots of little things in the room to keep you occupied if you were kept inside for whatever reason - books, Sky tv, games. It was far enough away from the bustle of town to feel that you were away from it all but close enough to make popping to the shops not a biggie. We liked it so much that we have already booked our return trip! Brian and Sue were very helpful and friendly and even let our 3 year old play in their grandchildren's outdoors little playhouse which has a slide and sandpit which she loved!
Country Patch is a fantastic place to stay in Waikanae. Our party of four stayed in the Studio, and enjoyed out time in this cosy, homely accommodation. The hosts Brian and Sue are very friendly, and made us feel at home with the breakfast provisions provided in our fridge everyday, and the useful advice on the surrounding area. Their three Alpacas in the adjoining field were adorable and added to the enjoyment of our stay :). When constructive feedback was left on the feedback form after our stay, our suggestions were implemented within a week and we were contacted letting us know this had occurred. I would definitely recommend staying at Country Patch and hope to return in the future.
Paradise in Waikanae at Country Patch, wonderful hosts Brian and Sue together with family Kate and Chef Simon. Everything possible is provided, fresh produces, preserves, dairy, cereals and even the daily newspaper. Stunning views over Kapiti & South Island from the bay window sofa bed. Don't miss this amazing haven when visiting New Zealand. We just don't want to leave - thank you to the Wilson Family and hope to see you soon again. "Go raibh cead mile maith agaibh". (A hundred thousand thank you's) John & Mabel
Brian greeted us with a cheery smile & warm handshake. Told us enough to make sure we knew what was available & where it was located & then left us to enjoy & explore which we did with glee. Just love all the little touches & those bath melts....bliss. Gorgeous place in a lovely location overlooking Kapiti Is & the South Is. Perfect location for post ferry travel from south. The local supermarkets have plenty of delicacies & great wine selection to enjoy at leisure while soaking in the views & the kitchen has everything you need to create meals. No need to go out. Lots of breakfast choices in the fridge. Just loved it & will definitely be back.
