Excellent hotel and staff, upgraded to honeymoon suite. Can't find any fault with the hotel. Menu for dinner could be larger. Definitely go again.

Room Tip: if possible room 5

I stayed for two nights recently in a twin room. I found almost all the staff to be charming. Sunday night was quite quiet, so it lacked abit of atmosphere, but Monday livlier and so felt more relaxing.
The room was a bit dated, although it appeared to have been recently redecorated and there did appear to be renovations on going through our stay.I believe they are moving to duvets soon, which will be better. The room was clean and the bathroom likewise, gain slightly dated units. The food was very good and quite a nice choice of wines. Breakfast was good with buffet and hot food to order. My main complaint would be in the comfort of the beds. Both matresses were hard and uncomfortable, the bases squeaked badly every time you turned over, and the pillows were also hard. However it was a quiet room and I did sleep quite well.
The hotel is in a lovely spot and with beautiful views. Not really difficult to find.

I stayed here on business for 2 nights as i didnt want to stay on my own in a town centre hotel. My room was comfortable and clean, the location was lovely but a little off the beaten track... all staff were very welcoming and the evening meals i had were delicious...

Stayed here for one night last week when attending a wedding at the hotel - have always found Best Westerns to be a bit of a mixed bag in the past; have stayed in some very bad ones and some that have been very good, and this one thankfully falls under the latter heading. It's not the easiest hotel in the world to find (even those I spoke to who used satnav ended up taking different routes to find the place!), but when you get there it's so worth it as the views are breathtaking!

As we were there for a wedding we didn't really make that much use of any hotel facilities apart from our room and breakfast the next morning, but these were both very good. The room wasn't the most modern I've ever stayed in but was large and clean and I actually managed to sleep straight through the night which is almost unheard of for me in a strange bed. The bathroom was also huge with a lovely sunken bath that made for a relaxing start to the day after the wedding :) Breakfast was good, although we did have to wait a while before being served once we'd sat down. On top of this, all staff we encountered were very friendly.

All in all, I'd recommend this hotel to anyone in search of an idyllic wedding venue or a romantic, quiet hotel to get away from it all in (although you may want to check there are no weddings going on at the time... I know of a few guests who went to bed early and could hear the party going on from their room with the window open)

Set in a secluded position, this hotel takes a bit of finding! Lovely views from my room, which was comfortable, warm and well equipped. Whilst it was very peaceful the night I was there, it was obviously a wedding and business conference venue, and if I went again I would check on this. Had an excellent breakfast, plenty of choice and unlimited coffee top ups! However, I thought the evening meal was overpriced and the standard of food average. Staff were all helpful and courteous and contributed to the relaxed feeling of the hotel.
