As others have noted, We visited a local pub, an artisan bakery, toured the agricultural area outside the cities and were educated about organic wine, sheep cheese and olive growing. What an wonderful day with a small tour group. The local farmer and his wife were absolutely delightful...real hard working people who did not play for the tourists.
Christian our guide and tour operator gave us answers to many questions about the daily life of those making their living off the land. Occasionally we even heard a little about the politics of Malta.
If you want to get away from the typical tourist places on the island and want to enjoy the company of others around a wonderful lunch on an outdoor patio, then this is the tour for you. We had fun, enjoyed good wine and local eats and overall a very memorable day. A real way to experince and understand what 'local food's means to Malta. This is a tour you do not want to miss ...... I have not told you everything you need to experience and learn on this event. Top notch small vans for travelling. This tour is also billed as the food and wine farm tour

My husband and I were visiting Malta on a cruise port visit. Christian was recommended through a work colleague and we sent him a list of all the places we wanted to visit on the day.

As it turned out it was a public holiday and traffic was very light so Christian managed to pack in much more than we expected and it was great!

We were one of the first boats going to the Blue Grotto (magical) so missed all the crowds from the cruise ship tours. Next stop was the Dingli Cliffs where the scenery was magnificent. Morning tea was at the Kings Arms in Rabat where we tried their delicious pastizzi and Kinnie. We walked to the Falzon Bakery and saw how local bread is made and got to taste some as well!

Christian drove us on the roads that bus tours can’t use which gave us a great insight to the geography and agriculture of Malta and the problems faced due to their low rainfall.

On to St Paul’s Cathedral and Mdina Cathedral Museum which has the most beautiful artefacts and art works including a comprehensive coin collection from ancient times to now.

On our drive we saw massive prickly pears which Christian explained bore fruit. When I queried their different colours we found out that each colour tasted different. Not long after Christian saw a roadside stall where he stopped and bought a container with a selection of peeled prickly pears. The flavours were delicious and the fruit had the consistency of kiwi fruit.

On the road again and we visited the Skorba Temples and the Rotunda Square where the Mosta Dome proved to be amazing. A bomb was dropped in WWII and came through the roof, skidded across the floor and didn’t explode - and the church was full for mass!

Christian took us to the Upper Barrakka Gardens where we spent some time admiring the views and reading about the history, then a drive to St George’s Square, La Guardiola and back to our cruise ship with plenty of time to do some last minute souvenir shopping and still be on board before curfew.

We cannot recommend Christian’s tour more highly. Even though ours was tailored to specific places we wanted to see, he showed us much more and explained so much about the countryside, the people and how they live.

Thank you Christian!

What a great day. If you want to feel an authenticity experience of MALTA. We got to meet local business owners from a cheese farmer, olive maker and wine maker. We visited a local pub and had authentic Maltese food. What a treat This tour was the highlight of our trip. It’s so nice to have a guided tour to explain the things you’re seeing and tasting A++

It was quite unique experience not only for our children (7 and 4), but for us as well. Having an individual excursion for the whole day, we could do lots of things. We’ve gathered strawberries in the field, seen the man baking bread, visited sheep farm, and after all we’ve come to the olive grove where we had snacks. Kids loved it because they could see lots of animals, and it was interesting to listen to all the Chris’ explanations and stories during the tour. Highly recommend to families with kids!

Not enough can be said about what Christian put together for this tour. It was personal, fun, and wonderfully insightful. The team of artisans that his company has put together made for a truly unique and memorable experience.

When it comes to wines, I simply know what I like and what I do not like. Seeing the meticulous process was absolutely fascinating to me. It helped that Mark was the one who walked me through it. When scheduling this, make sure you get Mark on the list. He is a cool guy who carries on a very fun conversation. Plus, you get to enjoy some of his wine which is excellent. Be sure to try his amber wine. It made me a believer.

Followed up by the bakery and lunch at an olive grove, this day was an absolute blast. Christian’s guidance made it even better. When scheduling the tour, talk with Christian often. He is very responsive and flexible with scheduling. He will also pick you up from wherever you are staying. The length of the day depends on what you schedule. He picked us up at 1000 and we were back by 1600 just in time to watch France v Croatia.

If you have any time in Malta, do this tour.

The food was delectable, the wine so unique and tasty, and the people were so friendly. We visited a bakery in Rabat, Mar Casar winery, Tal-Pespus Sheep Farm, and the Tan-Nixxiegha Olive Grove. Can’t recommend this tour highly enough!!!!!

Thanks Blake.... also for mentioning some of the members that you visited by name. Guests like yourself contribute greatly to the local rural communities in more ways than one would think!
