After our disappointment in Dungloe we were so happy with Dunfanaghy in general and Forest Lodge in particular.
The owner, Jean, is very friendly and the house is cosy and comfortable with a nice lounge and a warm atmosphere. The location is beautiful and close to stunning Holme Head. Chairs and a table in the garden were a welcome touch as you really want to be outside here to enjoy the view.

The upstairs room we had was small, the bathroom tiny but all was in order and we had a great night's sleep.

Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Would we go back ? Of course !

Room Tip: Downstairs if possible, the rooms are bigger.

We went to this wonderful bed and breakfast in September 2013 and were absolutely amazed.
It is wonderfully decorated, the landlady and her family (if around) are wonderful and sweet persons, the breakfast, usually a really tasty full irish breakfast is as yummy as it is stuffing and its location, even though it is a little bit far from the center of Dunfanaghy (which is still okay to walk, even when you are on foot) is offering a perfect start for some hiking tours around the landscape.
There is McSwines Loop, a good walk up to Horn Head, a walk along the beaches or through the bay of Dunfanaghy. You can also drive up to Ards Forest and have a gorgeous day in the forest and monastery (which i highly recommend)

The rooms in the B&B are well prepared, have nice bathrooms and soft beds, a perfect rest after a long day of walking.

We really enjoyed our stay at Forest Lodge. Jean was warm and welcoming, breakfasts were yummy (with music playing softly), and the room oh-so-comfy. There was lots of room for parking and the B & B is within walking distance of town (if you're willing to walk 10-15 minutes). Her garden is lovely to sit in on good days, has great views, and this place is close to wonderful walks - we just LOVED the Mc Swyne's Gun Loop Walk.

We stayed here for 3 nights and were very impressed by the great location, overlooking the sea and with Horn Head drive and Tramore beach accessible just by stepping out the door. It's a short walk to Dunfanaghy and Marble Hill beach and Ards Forest Park are a short drive away. The room was very comfortable with a good ensuite, there is a spacious guest lounge and the breakfast is delicious.

Myself, my parents and my sister stayed here for a night recently and really enjoyed our stay. Jane was very welcoming and chatty and even drove us into town that evening. The rooms were clean and warm and the breakfast was one of the best ive ever had, accompanied with soft irish music in the background. I really loved the homemade marmalade in the cute little table jars and when i told jane how delicious it was she gave me a large jar to take home. Now when i have my breakfast at home i am reminded of the wonderfull stay at the forest lodge b and b.
