We recently toured Bunratty Castle with on an EF Tour. The castle is very interesting with a rich history. The views from the top are very nice. Strolling through the village you will see replicas of thatched buildings and houses and see how people worked and lived in the 19th century. The gift shop is nice. There is additional shopping and a cute cafe across the street.

We stopped at the caste and village on a tour and thoroughly enjoyed our time in both. The castle has been very well restored and offers a good glimpse into medieval life. The village has lots of fun things, especially for children. We even got to meet two Irish Wolfhounds!

We weren’t sure about going in as thought the price a bit steep but actually this was great value- easily filled 3hrs! If you don’t know what a folk museum is (I didn’t!) its basically a series of authentically restored houses and shops depicting how people used to live (really fascinating). The castle was great and I would’ve loved to have booked a banquet And I can imagine that people with younger children would’ve got a lot out of the playground and animals - lots of places to run around.
Good quality gift shop
