Dinner was spectacular. A must for foodies. Setting is gorgeous too, but it's the extraordinary chef and delightful service that make this THE place to stay in ballyvaughan. Go out of your way to eat here.

The chef from Finland definitely made our vacation. We have had many meals in award winning restaurants and can tell that all awards to him are greatly deserved!! Breakfast on the other hand seemed a bit uninspired and service in the morning was slow and rather unattentive. The same goes for the Afternoon Tea, we did not get any cuttlery or additional hot water for the tea and no-one looked after us at all, after the delicies (plenty, with varying quality) had been served (not even to clear the table). But this seem to be the only weak points and we would nontheless recommend Gregans for a comfortable and unforgettable get-away. The landscape of the Burren is a perfect setting for the castle hotel, it is tastefully decorated, there is an art gallery with interesting art pieces that can be bought, design magazines are spread all over and we had a spacious, very clean junior suite - and we appreciated the warm welcome and helpful staff. There is no fitness center or Spa but plenty of hiking possibilites around Gregans.

Situated in the burren the views from Gregans are amazing(even on a rainy day). The bar is alovely place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine but the most amzaing thing about gregans is the food, it was one of the best meals I have eaten in a long time and would put many a michelin restaurant to shame. Good wine list with very affordable wines. Only down side is that water not very warm in bathrooms but thorougly enjoyed our stat and we will return

GO GO GO!! So that you can say that you were there in the year leading up the big announcement.

The hotel public areas, the bedrooms, and the service are all above average, as you would expect. But the food, oh man alive, the FOOD. Its all about the food. It blew me away. Having eaten in the Cliff House Hotel, and Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley within the past 6 months, I can say that, without a doubt, Mickael Viljanen's food left them for dust.
