Stayed five nights here and the welcome was almost overwhelming. The room was great. Arrived late due to ferry being delayed but were cheerfully served with traditional bacon, cabbage and potatoes at 10.00 p.m. Portion size was unbelievable. Next morning the cook asked if we were not well, as we had not finished our dinners! And the full Irish breakfast she cooks has to be eaten to be believed! The only place to stay if visiting South Tipperary.

Staff was friendly and helpful when I checked in - even reassuring me the airline had already called about my delayed luggage! I had a small, single room but it was perfect for me. Clean, hot shower. Tea kettle with plenty of tea for the morning. Huge full breakfast (Irish or custom) was excellent. Other people staying at the hotel/inn were very pleasant and friendly too. Very accommodating over a busy weekend in town.
First night, the room was a bit cold - but a small space heater, in addition to the radiator, quickly heated things up (didn't need the space heater beyond that first night). Bring slippers or socks as the rooms have laminate/hardwood flooring - which makes sense in wet, muddy weather (again, clean rooms as I didn't see a single dust bunny). Only recommendation would be regular hangers rather than flimsy wire ones - heavy rain gear needs substantial hangers.
Tony was great upon check out & getting my information to re-book for next year (opted for a double next time just so I had a bit more space).

Room Tip: A single is just that - a single (twin) bed.

I haven't stayed in the accommodation, but I have visited with some friends and eaten there.

It's a lovely, really authentic, Irish pub with great characters and a homely, welcoming feel. The food was pretty good, for pub grub, and we had great fun and felt very welcome there.

Would definitely recommend it as a place to visit if you're in the area.

We again had an enjoyable weekend at Nagles, 2nd and 3rd September 2011. Lucy & Tony Gleeson were again most hospitable and friendly. The meal supplied by Lucy on Friday evening was tasty and filling, perhaps not Cordon Bleu but a good standard of "pub grub". An additional feature was a small local musical entertainment group, playing some Irish jigs, ballads, a country & western style singer and some humorous recitations making a most enjoyable evening. Nagles is easy to find on the main A24 road in the village of Kilsheelan about 5 miles East of Clonmel. I paid Euros160 for two sharing a double room for two nights and evening meal for us both on one night, full Irish breakfast was included. Most rooms have both a double bed and an additional single bed.

A popular local public house with approx. 14 double rooms, all ensuite but only showers, ample parking. This is an inexpensive guest house type accommodation, adequate without being pretentious but there are small refrigerators in most rooms.
Proprieter and "Mine Host" in the bar is Tony Gleeson, a very friendly and most helpful person and his wife Lucy serves super meals, good plain cooking but plenty on your plate.
This is the third year we have used Nagles for two nights in order to attend a local social function and have been very satisfied, Tony going out of his way to be of assistance.
