“A perfect slice of Heaven”
Reviewed 22 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We have traveled Ireland, booking houses all over, for the last 20 odd summers and this is without a doubt the best house we have ever rented. The view is spectacular, a real jaw dropper. Once you get over the initial awe inducing panorama, and step inside, you will find a perfectly appointed, and absolutely spotless home. Everything you need is here. The host Angela is just wonderful - couldn't have been more helpful. We relished this house - it was a great base from which to do the Ring of Kerry and it was a pure delight to return each evening to the comfort of the house and splendour of the sunsets. We miss it all and hope to return so soon.

“A little piece of heaven”
Reviewed 18 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

What I have to say about Torann na dTonn does not do it justice. Everything about this cottage is sheer class. Angela has left nothing to chance and everything you would expect to find at home is here. Every room is well furnished and decorated to a high standard. Then there's the views ... and nothing I can say here does justice to the view from the cottage. Every day, irrespective of the weather or time of day, gives picture postcard views of the bay and the mountains that surround it.
And it doesn't end at the cottage! This part of Kerry is out of this world when it comes to scenery and I can see why people have been visiting it for centuries. We visited some fantastic restaurants (the Blind Piper at Derrynane was my favourite); the scenery on the way to Valentia Island is breath-taking; the beach at Derrynane (great for kids); the mountains every where around you are just beautiful - you could write a book about this place! It is just a jaw droppingly beautiful place to visit and I would highly recommend it to all interested in a beautiful place to stay, in a beautiful part of Ireland. We certainly will be back!

“Fabulous house and fabulous location...”

What can we reccomend about this fabulous home and location...
The breathtaking views of the sea, countryside, and mountains will stay with us forever.

We awoke every morning to stunning views of the Skellig Rocks.
It was great to experience serenity & tranquility on a daily basis!

The cottage itself is the perfect mix of traditional and modern styles...
all tastefully done. The pictures don't do it justice.

Our two six-year-old girls loved the spaciousness of the cottage,
both inside and outside, for running around and playing.

Angela, the owner of the Cottage is very warm and welcoming and looked after all our needs during our stay,

There are many Sandy Beaches that are very safe for swimming nearby.
Derrynane Beach , Caherdaniel being the one we spent most time on.

We ate out regularly and particularly enjoyed...
"The Blind Piper" Caherdaniel,
"The Moorings" Portmagee,
"The Beachcove Cafe" Waterville
"The Smugglers Inn" Waterville... our favourite

We are highly recommending "Torann na dTonn" to all our friends and colleagues.

“a lovely relaxing month in a relaxing house with a beautiful view on the Kerry coast”

We have been in Angela's house for a month (july/august) with most days pretty good and sunny weather. The house is comforting, nice bedrooms with good showers (two of them ensuite). The kitchen is spacious, well equipped and if we were in need of something it was promptly provided. The living room has a beautiful view over Ballinskellig Bay and is comfortabel to sit in and read, play music of just watch some t.v. (or even better: watch the view). Waterville is a lovely little village, directly on the coast and has all you need. There is a lot to exploit in the environment of the house (and don't forget the Lohar stone fort - directly next to the house) and you can have great walks (the Kerry way), go fishing on the shore (and try to catch the seabass), explore on a bike or have some nice drives. In short: we had a very good month in a lovely surrounding in a lovely house. Thank you, Angela.

“The ONLY place to do Ireland!”
Reviewed 29 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

If you have only 10 days to "do" Ireland this is the place for you! (Provided "doing" Ireland means you will NOT want to be on a bus...or want to cover as much of the country as possible!) My first reaction when we walked in the house was: "This is even BETTER than what I saw on trip advisor!" And it is for sure! You cannot believe the breathtaking beauty that surrounds you here...and so appropriately named: Torann na dTonn (The Sound of the Waves!) A perfectly idyllic spot off the beaten path to serve as your hub for exploring the area in depth. We totally enjoyed our stay here and will long to go back as soon as humanly possible! Angela is the perfect host demonstrating characteristic Irish charm, joy and hospitality...and her sister, Marion and their friend Ettel...were equally lovely people and a true delight to chat with. Very very clean and neat with simple beauty and charm...everything you could ever want in one place...and then some! (Angela goes out of her way to make everything special for you!) Lots to do around the area...(my wife kept saying: "You wouldn't see THIS on a tour bus!" Great pubs (make sure you eat in The Lobster and get their sticky toffee pudding...it's the best in Ireland!! AND...if you happen to be in O' Dwyers' pub say hi to Adrian and John for me!)
THIS home is the ONLY way to do Ireland in my book! Bag those bus tours and hang out with the locals in Co. Kerry in this amazing place! Angela's home needs to be on your MUST SEE AND DO list!
