First time in a hostel! !! Must admit a bit apprehensive, booked a 6 bedroom dorm for my family, was very basic but for what we needed for one night was fine. . 3 sets of bunkbends plus on suite . ..staff friendly use of kitchen facilities was excellent was able to bring in own food and prepare although we only made toast / sandwiches etc free tea and coffee was able to store ur own food in kitchen. .. must admit i wd use again, however would not use if i had to share with strangers, but as the prices were si cheap u could book out the whole room

We stayed for one night as a family of 4 in a bedroom with own bathroom. Once we opened the door to our room a moldy&moist smell hit us and even though we opened the windows immediately it never went away.
The bathroom is old and could use an update so could the carpet.
After being outside all day in the wind and rain we were never able to warm up in the Hostel.
It was a bit breezy and only in front of the open fire in the TV room we felt more warm.
But the staff was very helpful and super friendly.
For a night quite ok, since it is close to the cliffs of Moher.
Great is that they serve some complimentary breakfast in the morning.

We booked here on a whim for a short (two-night) family break and were happy with what we got. It did, as they say, what it said on the tin. It was a no-frills hostel, cosy and comfortable with friendly and helpful staff. We were two adults and four children (aged 6 to 14) and took a family room which comprised two bunk-beds and a double-bed with our own bathroom. The room was spartan but comfortable, we knew it was going to be basic so were happy with what we got, but a couple of bits of extra furniture (e.g. a chair or two or a bed-side lamp so the adults could read in bed while the kids slept) would have been welcome additions. The common areas were nice, with a lobby, a sitting room, and a games / bar area. The kitchen area was well equipped, but a little grimy. The location was excellent, easy walking distance from the centre of Lisdoonvarna and a scenic drive from Fanore, Ballyvaughan, Doolin, Lahinch, Kinvara, Moher etc.

My friends and I had been doing our Gaisce Gold award which involved walking 100km. For many of us this trip was our first experience staying in hostels. Our plan was to visit the Aran island but due to weather we could not go!
It was by chance we ended up staying here. The hostel took us in at very short notice.
The prices were very affordable for a group of students.
The room were comfortable and clean.
We really enjoyed the comfort of the living area and the bar area where we spent the evening playing Jenga and other games with the luxury of a cold beer.
I was surprised that we got towels and breakfast included in the price. As in other hostels we had to pay additional charges.
The kitchen facilities suited us down to the ground!
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our host was Serena and she was so helpful! We had a bit of an accident when one of my friends spilled her drink and Serena was lovely and insisted that she would clean it up and didn't require help! This was a really nice thought!
Also the lady on reception the following morning was nice and chatty but we didn't get her name!
Overall a great experience!

Stayed with a group of 10 others. Staff were very friendly and provided useful information about the locality.

Property was a bit dated. Our only fault was with the cold shower in our room.

I'd recommend the hostel!
