We've stayed here a few times. It is always a welcome stop during trips to Ireland. Breakfast is delicious. Margaret has good advice on what to see in the area. Best if you have your own car as it is on the outskirts of town, though I heard her offer other guests a lift into town to catch the bus to Kilkenny or Dublin. Just the right balance of interest in your stay but also privacy if you want it.

Room Tip: They are all good. Only one room has bathroom that isn't ensuite. Not a problem as it was just across the hall.

We were a big family from Austria with 8 persons and stayed in the Moonarch for 3 nights. It was a real pleasure for us and we can just recommand this B&B, especially when you travel with your family. Margaret was a really lovely host and she puts a lot of effort in everything. The guesthouse has nice rooms, which are very clean and consists of nice furniture. The breakfast was excellent too and Margaret provide us with many suggestions what we could visit.

Our three night stay could not have been better. Accommodations made our stay very special for our first trip beyond North America. Margaret provided fantastic recommendations for sites to visit including Kells Priory, Jerpoint Abbey, Lismore Castle, River Nore Valley, Iniostioge, Woodstock Gardens and many more. Breakfast was superb with great selection of cheeses and homemade scones. The etensive gardens invited a pleasant morning and evening stroll. Evening conversation was delightful as were the complementary drinks. Margaret and Seamus invested a great deal of loving care in developing this B&B into a very appealing place.

We stayed in moonarch after driving down from Dublin. We knew that it was on a rural location and it was exactly as expected. Our room had a nice double bed and a single bed. We were both do excited to have a top sheet on our beds after our recent travels in England and Scotland. Margaret is a lovey host and she cooks a very nice breakfast.

This B and B is a bit off the beaten track, and we wish we had stayed closer to Kilkenny. The hostess was lovely, though a bit distracted as she was serving high tea to the local arts council planning committee. She certainly didn't ignore us in any way, though I got the feeling she was a bit stressed.

The room had all the basics, though her admonition to not place a suitcase on the bed without spreading out an extra sheet seemed a bit strange (given that there was only one stand in the room.) The room was of average size.

Breakfast was good, but basically average comparted to the other places we stayed later in our trip.
