Certificate of Excellence

Just returned from a wonderful three night stay in Casey’s Hotel, Baltimore. I travelled with a colleague and appreciated the fact that a single supplement was not charged. All too often in Ireland ‘single rooms’ are inferior but here I would describe them as luxurious, particularly as they had stunning sea views.
An excellent menu was on offer in their seafood restaurant, however we elected to dine in the atmospheric bar each evening beside an open fire. A perfect place to unwind after hiking on Sherkin & Cape Clear Islands.

Breakfast (which is cooked to order), was superb and we were surprised to find fresh orange juice each morning – a nice touch.

The staff in Casey’s are genuinely friendly and attentive without being intrusive.

Overall there is a lovely ambience in this hotel which envelopes you the minute you check in.

Room Tip: Ask for room with sea view but all rooms tasefully decorated

First impressions of the exterior of the hotel and restaurant are very positive. Excellent views. We thought the bar / restaurant a little cramped and dark on a February day. The toilets are definitely below standard. The seafood was excellent and the choice was beyond our expectations. Friendly staff and good service. Meal went outside our expected budget and although we considered the overall experience very good - the food prices were expensive. We did not stay there but formed the view that this hotel would struggle for a third star.

Stayed for 3 nights BB with 1 Evening Meal in January for two, cost €200. Lovely little hotel with a very personal service. Large and comfortable bedroom and what a breakfast, best I've had. The evening meal was good but I did find better quality and value in the nearby Sibin Bar. I would definately recommend Caseys and I would stay there again.

Right, so I'm just back from a fantastic weekend in Baltimore. Stayed for two nights in Casey’s. On the whole we enjoyed our stay. The positives are many: good location, excellent breakfast, friendly staff and decent restaurant. Unfortunately the room was not so good. It felt a bit like a waiting room with a bed! It was in need of modernisation and was quite cold due to the fact that the room was large and had one small radiator. The worst part was the bed which was just two singles matresses pushed together. That’s not on lads! If I was going to stay again I would opt for the sea view room which may be better.

Room Tip: Sea view is the only option
