First visit this week to Mountain House Restaurant in Ardfield. Lovely little restaurant. Nice decor and very clean. Taken over by a French Chef in recent times. Interesting menu and different to the usual fare. A very pleasing veal on the bone, with pork croquettes on a veg puree, asparagus, and gratin potatoes was quite delicious. And my Husband had a very tasty Indian flavoured fish curry. And the desert appeared quite french. Simply delicious. Front of house Lady excellent, warm, friendly, and very accomodating. Great with the Customers. A nice touch was the Chef himself calling to each table and having a few words. I noticed a table nedt to me appeared regulars already, and waitress remembering what way he liked his steak cooked from previous visit. And that is always good. It appears they can be very busy and it is advisable to book in advance, especially at weekends. They have a Wedding booked, which is lovely to see smaller venues catering for these Special occassions. Am looking forward to dining here again soon.
