This was our first stop on our vacation in Ireland. The hotel was very nice. Our standard room was small. Our view looked out onto a blank wall. The bathrooms were clean and the beds were comfy. I was traveling with a group of ten women, two to a room. We only stayed here one night. Our group met in a parlor in the evening and had tea and scones. They were fantastic, the best we had on our trip. The scones were served with clotted cream and homemade raspberry jam. Our breakfast was not memorable because for the life of me I cannot remember it. I would stay here again.

Room tip: Ask for a room with a view.

Located in Malahide, just 9 miles from Dublin city center and overlooking the Irish Sea, this hotel is centrally located for golfers and just 15 minutes from the international airport.

Also a 2 block walk into the town center with great wine bars, coffee houses and restaurants. The train station a couple blocks further will take you into the city center.

The hotel has many amenities including a pool. Foods great too!

My wife and I, stayed here for a short break, while visiting her family and relations in Ireland, even thought we were in the new part of the hotel, the hotel does have oldle worlde charm.
The room, was smaller than anticipated, but fine, the bed very comfortable, we had a view of the estuary, overlooking the gym and swimming pool, no noise, and a great sleep!
The hotel is in a great location, just up the road, you a catch the Dart train, into the centre of Dublin, only takes about 20 minutes.
We chose to eat in the restaurant one night, the food was fine, but not outstanding, we were staying there on a bed and breakfast basis

Room tip: Use the Dart Train Service, to get to the centre of Dublin, the price is good also. If in the area, visit Malahide castle, plenty to do and see.

The Grand was the last Hotel on our trip to Ireland and it didn't disappoint. We had a lovely welcome and had been upgraded to an executive room with a sea view.
Our room was good size, great bed and linens nicely furnished and spotlessly clean.
The Hotel itself is fairly big but you do feel that you are a valued guest, and not 'processed' as is the way often in big Hotels.
The Grand has great staff, very attentive and there if you need them.
Breakfast, despite the amount of guests staying is a very relaxed occasion, good choices and the cooked breakfast very tasty, well cooked, plenty of everything and not at all rushed which you can be made to feel when you stay at bigger hotels.
We had an evening meal in the Coast restaurant on our last night, this was absolutely fantastic, good choice from menu ,not huge choice but I like this as you really think that what is actually on the menu will be good quality, there are also specials on the day. Again service was excellent and you really are made to feel that your dinner is an 'occasion'.
I have seen other reviews and quite honestly I think that the Grand is a really good choice if you are staying in Malahide a lovely spot but also a great choice for Dublin instead of staying in the city which can be a bit 'hit and miss' the dart train station is 5 minutes walk from hotel and Dublin 20 mins away. We will use again especially if popping over for the odd rugby match.

Room tip: Sea views rooms are lovely although the road can be noisy until late evening.
