“Worth every euro”
Reviewed 18 June 2012

We started our week's hike at the Dingle Peninsula at Castlewood. Not the cheapest of our B&B's, but worth every euro. Quality in all details and great hospitality.

This is honestly the best guesthouse I have stayed in. The rooms are to an impeccable standard and the atmosphere is perfect for anyone wishing to enjoy a relaxing break in Ireland. The staff are helpful beyond what is required and really add to the enjoyment of staying here. You will probably struggle to get a better breakfast in Ireland. Highly recommended.

My husband and I went on a two week long trip to Ireland to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We stayed at Castlewood House for just one night and wished it had been many more. These folks understand everything it takes to run a top-notch bed & breakfast. We could not find one fault. Everything about this place is high quality - the room, the bathroom, the bed, the decor, the friendliness of the hosts, the view, the ambiance....need I go on? And then there's the breakfast! Wow! It started with an amazing buffet of every imaginable culinary creation - all made in-house. The baked goods come straight out of the oven. On top of that you choose an entree from the menu. We were sustained for the entire day! The April night we were in Dingle was cold, blustery, and rainy. Our spirits would have been just as damp if not for having this wonderful place to stay. We sat by the parlor's fire and then retired to our super-comfortable room for a soak in the tub. We chose a "classic" room. It was spacious and beautiful, so I can only imagine what the suites may have been like.

My wife and I stayed at the Castlewood House during our honeymoon in late May. We had a wonderful experience during our short time there. Helen and Brian are wonderful hosts. From the time we arrives until the time we left they were warm and helpful. They gave us some great insight into the town of Dingle and helped set up a tour of the Dingle Peninsula for us.

The room itself was very nice. We had a wonderful view of the bay from our window and enjoyed a comfortable bed and beautiful bathroom. The food provided in the morning was very tasty. My wife and I both enjoyed a large traditional Irish breakfast.

The only downside, if you want to call it that, is the location of the hotel relative to town. It's a fair walk from the center part of town to the hotel. We arrived and departed by bus, so we walked to and from the hotel several times including during inclement weather. However, being away from the center part of town kept noise to a minimum. So, in the scheme of things, the location is good.

In closing, I would definitely stay at the Castlewood House again.

The house is magnificent and our room was wonderfully spacious and well decorated. Bathroom was full of light and also spacious. We had a perfect stay and the owners show a lot of care for their guests. The sunny breakfast room is also fantastic. Congratulations to Helen and Brian for this great place!
