We stayed four nights at Castlewood House and wished we could have stayed longer. Helen and Brian have done a magnificant job creating a gorgeous inn that is extraordinarily tasteful without being pretentious. Quite the contrary, one feels warmly welcomed as friends from the first point of contact via email and continuing throughout the visit. The breakfasts are superb, with a huge array of fruits and freshly baked breads and bread & butter pudding, along with a choice of fabulous cooked egg dishes. We had a bay view room with spectacular views across the water. We followed our hosts' advice about places to go and restaurants to visit, and were never disappointed. In the early evenings, we took advantage of the nice selection of wine that our hosts offered, savoring it in the beautiful lounge beside the bay window and fireplace, before heading to dinner at one of Dingle's terrific restaurants. We look forward to a return visit and plan to tell all our friends not to miss the Castlewood House experience when they come to Ireland.

Room Tip: Request a bay view room for the perfect experience.

The Castlewood House is gorgeous, very well maintained, and in a great location. Helen and Brian gave us great tips (and reservations) for the best restaurants and pubs, gave us detailed maps and helped planned activities, and made the most amazing breakfasts each morning! I am so sad to leave and hope to return someday.

My wife and I read fantastic reviews of the Castlewood House on TripAdvisor and decided to try it out. We flew in to Dublin and immediately drove straight through to Dingle, making a few stops on the way. The airline lost my wife's luggage, and we had been up for 36 straight hours, including our flight, so needless to say we were exhausted by the time we reached the Castlewood House. We found this to be a little slice of paradise in Western Ireland. We relaxed in the wonderful and large bathtub, walked into town to have our first taste of authentic Irish stew, and then retired to a well-deserved sleep. We awoke the next morning to a breakfast spread that we still talk about to this day, 3 years later. Fresh fruit, several types of yogurt and granolas, black and white pudding (incredible!), and my wife had porridge with her choice of heavy cream, Bailey's Irish cream, or Jameson whiskey (she went with the Bailey's). It was absolutely fantastic, and Dingle is gorgeous. Any time we visit Ireland again, we will always make a point to visit Helen and Brian at the Castlewood House. We even bought some art painted by her mother. I can't recommend this place strongly enough!

Castlewood House is a great place! Stayed for 3 days. Helen & Brian were very nice & most helpful. Couldn't wait for breakfast each morning. Dingle is a short walk away. Rooms were spotless, which is always most important thing to me. Castlewood is an excellent value! Would most definitely stay here again!

We stayed at Castlewood House for four days in early April 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our room was clean, comfortable and very well furnished. The staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful. Brian was a font of local knowledge and, as all other reviews have noted, produced absolutely excellent breakfasts. We loved Dingle and the local area, with so much to do and with such breathtaking scenery. To be able to return to Castlewood House at the end of each day was the icing on the cake.
