We were booked into this B&B by a friend who lives closeby, and as a gay couple I am dubious about B&Bs and dealing with some people predjudises who own them. I prefer to stay in Hotels. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and Although the owner questioned the double bed booking, it was far from awkward and was handled by her extreamly well. The complimentary coffee was much appreciated. The pastries are devine ( I cannot express how much I enjoyed mine as did my partner, it was a real treat and very well priced) The room was Simply decorated, bright and airy and the shower was powerfull with lots of hot water. We had a private entrance so we could come in late at night and not disturb any other guests. The fact that you had the option of as late a breakfast as you want was very appreciated, even thoght we would not be ones for sleeping in late. They owners are very nice and relaxed, with a great friendly welcoming athmostphere at breakfast. The breakfast very tasty indeed and lots of it. If there was one little thing that would make the place perfect, it would be a little work to the outside of the house and gardens. This was a short one night stay but was a lovely break in a very well run B&B. We would recommend this place to anyone staying in Kenmare.

Great hospitality and very nice people. Tidy place. The breakfast is a high point! If you're traveling as a couple, have one person choose the Irish breakfast and the other pastries. Close walk to town.

Our stay at Rose Cottage couldn't have been nicer. The rooms are comfortable, with roomy and modern bathrooms en suite. The real highlight of the stay, though, is the food produced in the in-home cafe and bakery. The owner, trained as a French chef, bakes delicious cakes, tarts, breads, and pastries of all sorts daily. The place is clean; the hosts are accommodating and helpful, and the food is wonderful. We would definitely stay here again.

Chose to stay here based on other reviews we had read. Good proximity to the town and pretty from the outside. Inside, the decor was dated and lacked the personal touch that other B&Bs we have stayed in offered. The owner was pleasant but quite reserved and not much chat! Rooms offered the basics and were clean. We had been drawn to this place after reading other reviews about the pastries - however, in the morning there were cereals left out and then we were offered a fry. Believing this was our only option we took it, only to later see others getting pastries - we were never offered this and so felt we missed out. Overall, disappointed after reading such good reviews, probably not be back.

We made reservations for 5 rooms for our group of 9 and stayed three nights. The new owners (since 2010), Vladimira and Jerome, made wonderful, friendly and pleasant hosts. They went out of their way to make us feel at home. We were welcomed (arriving from the Cork Airport) with coffee and enjoyed delicious pastries. Jerome is a French pastry chef and must bake the best baguettes and pastries in all of Kenmare! Local people stop by for a quick lunch or just to buy some of their delicious breads or pastries. Unfortunately, we did not get to try all of their pastries and quiches, so we'll have to come back for more! Breakfast is delicious with lots of choices, whether you like Irish breakfast or croissants and bread. The rooms were nice and clean with fresh towels every day. It's location is only a short walk (about 10 minutes) from Kenmare town centre. Great value for your money! Thank you, we had a lovely stay!
