“Fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2010

We had the most fantastic morning at Star Sailing, we had a fairly large group of over 70 adults that visited Kenmare. We hit straight for Star sailing Outdoor Centre (5 mins from town) and started our morning with a coffee and a delicious warm scone with cream and jam in Cons (restaurant). The staff were very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. We then boarded "Star of the Sea" and criused along the beautiful Kenmare Bay. You have a bit of everything in Kenmare Bay, spectacular views, castles, islands and seals, all to be seen form the upper or lower deck of the boat. The trip lasted just over an hour but we enjoyed every minute. I would like also to compliment the staff at the booking office, they made the job of organising the activity hassle free.

“Our best day out perfect for kids and teens”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2010

Star Outdoors is an activity centre in Kenmare Bay. They have a mixture of activities on offer. They have an all day option for the kids that includes a whole range of water and non-water based activities. My daughter aged 12 went there with her school and when I picked her up after she talked for 45 minutes non-stop about how much fun they'd had.

We had 2 teenage girl cousins age 13 and 16 staying with us recently and we decided to go to Star Outdoors. We opted for the water based activities. We hired kayaks, they have doubles or singles and can also provide you with wetsuits, boots, life jackets and helmets.
The 16 year-old was kind of dragged along under duress and then we couldn't get her out of the water! We all had a really magic day. Teens are tough to bring on a day out, they are at the stage where they are starting to be bored by most activities but this is a winner.

We had a gentle kayak trip out to where they have a trampoline and a slide in the water. We spent about an hour there jumping and sliding in and out of the water. The bay was surprisingly warm once you were in. The kayaks are very easy to navigate around the place and it is just so beautiful there.

There is a very nice restaurant there if you want to have lunch as well.

Bring towels and your swimsuits, they have hot showers in the changing room.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful and work hard to make sure that everyone is enjoying themselves. This is a perfect day out. I very much recommend visiting this centre during your stay.

“An excellent family activity 10/10.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 August 2009

We went to Star twice while in Kenmare this August. It is an excellent activity for families with teenagers or younger children. We rented some 1 and 2 person sit-on and sit-in kayaks complete with all of the necessary equipment for €40. It was well worth it. We paddled at our leisure around the safe and clean waters of Kenmare bay. When the kids got tired paddling we went to a floating trampoline and water slide and spent almost an hour there diving head first into the water. On our particular trip there was no supervision but there are other outings where supervision for the children is included. We ate afterward in Con's cafe on site. The fish was fresh out of the bay and was really nice at half of what it would cost up town. Well done Star!!! 100% recommended.
