Description: The Lime Tree is recognised as Kenmare's landmark restaurant. Housed in a beautiful building dating back to 1832, the food and service continues to win accolades and many new customers. The quality ingredients are sourced locally and then carefully prepared with passion. Fish from the cleanest waters in Europe is delivered daily and lamb is provided by the local farmer. Simple caring preparation ensures tasty food. The service is friendly and efficient with an emphasis on value for money in an informal manner.

Had dinner here recently with family. Fairly extensive menu. I had the Hake which was excellent as were all dishes chosen by the group. Very busy but the service was quick and servers very pleasant and helpful. Somewhat cramped and difficult to carry on a conversation but this added to the appeal!. Only quibble that I would have is that the menu was priced at all inclusive prices being 39.50 euro for two courses or 46 for three which is quite expensive and restrictive. Otherwise fully recommended.

Was recommended the Lime Tree by friends and nearby hotel I was staying. Friendly staff. Shown to a table upstairs which was a "turn off" as only one up there as a lone diner. Very noisy - 12 Loud American diners below me incapable of respecting anyone else dining. Anyway - 14 more arrived (cyclists) in my area. All mature travellers but selfish horrible people oblivious to anyone else around them. Spoiled my evening. Food was average but nothing to complain about. Waitress was excellent and sympathised. Took my two hearing aids out but volume was so loud it didn't help. Menu was not as interesting as Packies the night before. Disappointed if I'm honest given reviews. Stripping out the "company" I could only honestly say this was average from food and total experience perspective. Upstairs is impersonal. Staff excellent .

The Lime Tree is set back from the main street and a nice surprise for dessert. The restaurant is an old schoolhouse that has been renovated into a very beautiful setting.
The service was superb, great ambience, and the desserts were to die for!

As eat out often with hubby , decided to try this restaurant
The staff greeted us quickly which was nice 👍 very friendly staff.
Being a vegetarian it's often hard to find places that offer nice range for vegetarians and this place was no exception
All they could offer was goats cheese or tofu sausages neither of which is great choice really ? If you don't like tofu sausages and goats cheese then it's a no no place to go !!!
All I ended up having was veg and 2 baby potatoes which was all I was offered
My husbands meal looked lovely he really enjoyed the steak and prawns for starters
But we won't be retuning as can't offer veg menu so if owner is reading this, you have a lovely restaurant but need to shake up your veg menu ( put a little effort into us vegetarian s please . And I'll back if you do )
