A beautiful cottage in a lovely setting, views of the country and great walks around the area, pet friendly. The cottage itself was full of high quality furniture and equipment, biggest and most comfortable bed i have slept in. The kitchen was so well equipped better than my own. When we arrived we found biscuits and sweets for the humans, and a dog bowl with water in and poo bags and a toy for the dog. such lovely touch. Everything was thought over and above the usual holiday rental. In the porch were some pens and paper, a torch, which i had forgotten, sewing kit. Helen brown who runs the cottages is such a friendly lady we will return when we can. The only one downside is we wanted to walk everywhere and a few places meant crossing the A35 which can be really busy, so you have to drive. There are lots or nice walks from the cottage though and some great local pubs.

“Beautiful well equiped cottage, lovely tranquil location.”
Reviewed 2 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

This was our second visit to this cottage and the first since a full refurbishment by the new owner. Whilst we didn't think anything could be improved upon, the refurbishment is lovely, every detail thought of and the finish in keeping with the ambience of the property and to a high standard. It is spotlessly clean and very comfortable.
We were welcomed with a cream tea laid out in the cottage upon our arrival with milk in the fridge for a refreshing 'cuppa' after the journey, a nice touch. Some essentials are included so it was nice not having to take those with us.
The location is quiet, convenient for travel as just off the A35 and ideal for local walking without using the car, there are 6 circular walks from the village varying in distance and difficulty, an ordnance survey map would also be useful as some directions didn't match up with signposting, route marking was spasmodic and we were often unsure that we were 'on the right track'and on one occasion we lost our way, resulting in a much longer walk than intended.
The owner, Helen, is very friendly and helpful without being intrusive, a perfect balance.
We are booking again for next year as there is still plenty to see and do in the area, it is a great base and the perfect place to relax.

Thank you for leaving such lovely comments.

It was a shame you lost your way on the village walk, I will certainly see if the village will consider popping up a few more signs for walkers, and leave an OS map of Kilmington with the costal maps.

I am so glad you enjoyed your holiday and will look forward to meeting you again in 2017.

Very best wishes
