Stayed over for the weekend as we were attending a wedding. Welcomed and checked in by the owner, who pointed out the lunchtime menu, which was Thai food. This was excellent. The room (4) was quiet enough, but rather small and a small shower, though good pressure and temperature adjustable, which was important in the heat. Would stay again.

I spent three nights in this characteristic hotel, in the very heart of Bradford-on-Avon. My single room was at the third floor, quiet, with a suitcase stand, very useful shelves in the bathroom and a spacious wardrobe. The shower though didn’t have one single shelf or anything to cling on if you slipped by accident. In return… the radiator was hot and your towel always dry. The mattress was not comfortable. There is no “real” reception, only a small office where you wait for somebody to show up. If you need any information you can ask James, but everybody is very, very busy and it feels like you are disturbing if you ask.

We visited yesterday for lunch, a family of 8. The hotel, bar and restaurant were very understaffed - with one young lady having to manage the bar, check ins and hotel enquiries, food orders and bringing food from the kitchen. She was absolutely lovely, working so hard and we couldn’t fault her demeanor or customer service, but inevitably our food took a while to come out and came out in bits and pieces. It was a very busy day with a festival in town and a cycling race outside so any decent manager could have predicted it would have been busy and even rostered more staff on...or actually gone out to help their team on the floor!! Bad management to leave one person doing all this - she was multitasking as much as anyone could, in 28 degree heat. As a ops manager myself it was horrible to see, stressed me out a bit and my heart went out to her! Food was ok, but expensive for the portion size and quality of presentation and how long it took to get to us.

We had a wonderful weekend, the Hotel was everything we wanted. The service was excellent. They have a Thai restaurant in the Hotel and the food was amazing. It was the owner that really sold it to us, by being friendly and helpful, as so is the rest of the staff. We will definitely be going back there again. The town of Bradford-on-Avon is beautiful, we thought a truly romantic town.

Visited here yesterday for a carvery lunch. Haven't been inside here for years. What a difference. Not very busy when we arrived. Staff were friendly and helpful informed us of choices. Small plate or large. There were three meats to choose from and a good selection of vegetables along with a choice of apple sauce and cranberries. At the end was a huge cauldron of steaming hot gravy. The plates were warm when they arrived. Always important to me. By the time we left it was very busy. The decor is lovely. Tables have plenty of room between them. Lovely atmosphere.
