My husband and I stayed here earlier this month, it's a stunning property with a large, steep, beautiful garden at the rear which leads to parking spaces, not a walk for the infirm or faint hearted. The guest room we stayed in was dated, situated in a low ceilinged part at the rear of the house , no view from the windows and barely enough light to read by, a rather tired shower room, plenty of hot water though. The bed was adequate, only a few small rugs underfoot so take your slippers! The person in the attic room above us made a terrific racket going up the stairs to bed so we were disturbed.
Breakfast was, as a previous reviewer said, 'adequate', no wholemeal bread on offer but nice home made jams and jellies and their own honey, no fresh fruit, just sweetened home grown fruit compote which was very nice but I prefer sugar free. Plain yogurts were tiny and homemade, delicious but not a generous amount. The cooked breakfast was the same both mornings, fried egg, bacon, toms and mushrooms ....no sausages, again adequate but options would have been nice. The owners were very pleasant but seemed rather detached from the business of ensuring that guests had the best possible experience with them. It's rather basic for the price.More
