“Comfortable and conveniently located”
Reviewed 29 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

With four other members of my family I stayed in the maisonnette at Huntenhull Farm for four nights while attending a wedding in Warminster. The modern, well equipped and comfortable accommodation included everything we needed for our stay, including a cot for my grandson, which I requested in advance. Parking was available for two cars. We had a couple of small issues during our stay, one self inflicted, but these were attended to promptly and good-naturedly by the owner who lives on site. Huntenhull Farm is situated approximately half way between Frome and Warminster and is most easily accessible via the A36. The nearest supermarket, ASDA, is located in Frome, approximately 10 minutes away by car. The only real issue I had during our stay had nothing to do with the accommodation itself. The farm is located in a hollow and as a result I found mobile phone reception to be poor to non existent. To contact other members of my family living or staying close by I found it necessary to walk to the top of Brimhill Rise, a five minute walk away.

“Classy yet cosy!”
Reviewed 17 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

It really is a lovely place. Little cramped but it's all part of the charm of the place.

Renting out holiday apartments myself makes me notice a few things that could be improved. Unfortunately they gave us no toiletries when we arrived so we did go ask if they supplied them and the babysitter who was home told us they should have been put in but obviously cleaners forgot but she gave them to us happily. Toiletries should be a basic for a cleaners tick list. We were given half used loo rolls in both bathrooms and there were 5 of us for a few nights so we asked for more to which were given a kind of rude response and were questioned as to why we needed more, which made us feel uncomfortable. Half a toilet paper in each bathroom isn't great to begin with, really should use fresh rolls for new guests but to question a request for more is poor manners anyway but when they are your guest that attitude is a big no. The kitchen is well equipped but unfortunately a lot of the pots and pans were dirty and needed a good scrub before using. That was a shame because the rest of the place was beautifully clean. In the kitchen were laminated sheets of local things to do which is a lovely idea, especially for somewhere that is out in the country.

There were a range of DVDs for the TV upstairs as well which was great. Boardgames to play was a lovely addition. The beds were comfy, we all slept very well and the rooms cosy and homely, the bathrooms really are luxury, jacuzzi baths with beautiful done lighting. I would recommend some clear instructions with it as it is quite fancy and several buttons to navigate! The free wifi had a strong connection which is always wonderful too.

Over all its a great place, we were impressed and we would definitely stay again. It has a classy yet cosy atmosphere. I would just say some attention to detail makes guests feel cared for.

Management Response
24 Aug 2015
We are delighted to hear you were impressed with our apartment. As you can see from all other reviews we take pride in making sure standards are consistently high.

We thoroughly appreciate receiving feedback from our guests and whenever possible like to act on their suggestions.

We have ALWAYS ensured toilet paper is available on arrival and a small additional supply is stored in the cupboard under the kitchen sink. We did in this instance supply additional toilet paper on each of the three occasions it was requested during the three night stay. As with toiletries, guests always bring their own toilet paper to our self catering accommodation. Having considered your valuable opinion we will make sure each bathroom contains at least two rolls (additional for longer stays).

With regard to your comment about toiletries, the team here at Huntenhull have discussed this further and feel that complimentary toiletries are not something one would expect when staying in self catering accommodation. They would be expected in a hotel, possibly even bed & breakfast but not in self catering. Guests always bring their own toiletries and whenever we travel we always take our own with us.

Hopefully the steps we are taking will ensure 100% satisfaction for all future guests.

“Fantastic place just loved it.”
Reviewed 23 March 2015 for a stay in September 2013

Enjoyed every minute of our stay, a great base if you're on a self driving holiday Property itself wonderful, excellent location close many to tourist attractions and towns. Conversion job is brilliant, had every thing we wanted and enough it tech stuff to keep our adult son very happy when we were back home in the evenings.

“Beautiful, quiet and ideal if you want to get away from it all.”
Reviewed 31 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

My boyfriend and I stayed here for our year anniversary and it couldn't have been nicer. The accommodation was clean, well looked after and beautifully presented. Ellie and Crispin couldn't have been more helpful throughout our stay, even leaving a little booklet of things to do in the area.

Being only a short drive from Longleat and Warminster it was perfect for a weekend get away.

We can't wait to visit again soon.
