Booked a table in late morning for 1.00pm - just as well, restaurant was full when we arrived. Superb meals and desserts - would thoroughly recommend. Total cost of drinks, meals and desserts under £70 - wow!

Room Tip: Not applicable - this was a meal, not an overnight stay.

We visited here with a group of friends. We all had starters, the scallops were amazing- tasty and a excellent portion size. The prawn cocktail was also very nice.
The steaks were both a good size and full of flavour, once was slight tough but not that you could not eat it and. The chicken dish was lovely as was the burger. The puddings were great, the mars bar cheesecake was amazing! The service was excellent and the staff very helpful. One of that party was gluten intolerant and that was not a problem and the staff were very accommodating with this. The pub has a nice country feel to it and has nice character.

Booked here as was meeting up with family and needed somewhere in the middle. It was mother day and also a birthday. There were 11 of us. 84yr down to 3yr. Large carpark. Huge outdoor seating/ field with play equipment. On arrival we were quickly greeted and shown to our table. Drinks followed shortly afterwards and then our menus. We all opted for the carvery which is a help yourself. Has a choice of 3 meats or could have had a bit of all 3. First star. Plenty of help yourself veg. And as many Yorkshires as you wanted. Second star. Plenty of gravy and condiments. Food was delicious. Meat cooked perfectly. Melt in your mouth. Some veg a little hard but that is just preference. Lots of clean plates. Third star. To full for dessert and wanting to save room for cake but the kids did have ice cream. Plenty of staff on and my only criticism was that they were all stood by carvery most of the time. It was hard to catch there attention and so had to keep getting up for drinks ECT. When they did come round though they were pleasant and polite. Didn't have to wait to long for anything. All.in all a great afternoon had by all and would highly recommend a visit. We will definitely return when in the area.

We stayed at The George Inn for a mini-break, and loved sitting by the log fire in the bar. We had booked bed and breakfast, and decided to have dinner there too. It's a great 'country pub' with unpretentious good food and staff. The room was very comfortable and characterful, and the whole stay was so much more pleasant than a plain travelodge or premier inn.
Portions were big, food quality was great, and staff were lovely. What more could you want?!

Room Tip: Even though some rooms are on the road side there's good noise-cancelling glazing in the windows.
