Friday night meal, excellent layout, great staff and fantastic food. Would recommend the steaks.

Some of our party has pies which are famous in the area. The Menu is varied and would cater to everyone's tastes.

Good choice of beers and largers.

Went for an evening meal with friends.
Waiters were attentive, but lacked any personality, and didn't seem to enjoy their job.
Food was very tasty, but expensive, and not a lot of it. It's been a while since I went home and ate doritos after a meal out.
Friend's pie, tho tasty, was a bowl of stew with a pie top.
The pub itself is pleasantly decorated, and has comfy chairs, but it lacked atmosphere.
Probably wouldn't eat there again.

We had an evening meal but were disappointed. I had scampi, chips with a salad. Scampi was small pieces ( about 10 ) from a frozen packet. For £11.95 I expected larger pieces and fresh breadcrumb coating. My husband just had a starter of scallops, which he said were slightly undercooked.

Room Tip: We did not stay at the hotel

I stayed overnight on a Saturday & found my welcome to be warm & my room clean & cosy. Breakfast was very good quality & reasonably priced & the staff were very helpful & friendly. Will definitely visit again.

We struggled to get a table for 4 at short notice on a busy Saturday night when everyone seemed to be filling the pubs after dry January .

The Roebuck was able to fit us in and it was a very reasonable meal with a few choice ales .

Nacho starters ( v hot ) and a burger and a couple of pints was very enjoyable .

Top tip if you are 6ft or over - watch your head at the bar ...
