Stayed three nights very comfortably.
Rooms were simple and clean and shower was clean and powerful.
The manager was amazing. She was so welcoming - felt like home straight away.
Breakfast was lovely too - the staff really look after you.

Would happily stay again :)

It's not quite a hostel but it's not a guest house either yet the prices by the time to add in breakfast are a little on the expensive side. We felt 7pound for the breakfast we got was too much compared to what you can get elsewhere. The director of the centre was very friendly and welcoming. Parking is very handy. WIFI is unreliable and it appears to be an issue in the area rather than the centre itself.

Thank you for your kind comments. About the breakfast, we try to give value for money with a cereal/porridge, fresh fruit salad + cooked all for £7. We also always try to give locally sourced produce which tends to be a little bit more expensive but we aim to help local community in anyway we can. Hope you will visit us again!

Spent a night here a few weeks ago. The room and entire lodge were lovely and very well presented. The welcome was excellent and a great breakfast was ready first thing to set me up for the day, The location is ideal for the mountains and you can be in the heart of the Mournes in no time.

The room itself was perfect - warm and cosy with all the necessities. I got a lovely greeting on arrival but was surprised that I was the only person staying and that the place was not staffed at all. I did not feel safe staying in such an isolated building totally alone, and as a result did not sleep well. I appreciate that the hostel is run on a voluntary basis but it should be made clear beforehand, especially to single travelers that they may be alone in the building.

Thank you for your kind comments on the room. However, on your arrival, I did explain that you were the only person staying (mid-week, January) and asked were you happy about this - you assured me this was no problem. I came back at 9:30pm but you had gone to bed so I did not disturb you. I do appreciate your concern for a single girl on her own and will keep these concerns for the lone traveller for the future. Thankfully we live in an exceptionally safe and quiet area where everyone in the village is looking out for our guests. While we are a community business, all our local staff are paid and fully trained: child-protection, health and safety, world host and have taken part in environmentally awareness programmes. Myself, the director, is a volunteer and retired teacher who organises this thriving community business. We support all things local. I hope you were not too distressed by your lone experience in the centre.

Great location if you want to hike in the Mourne Mountains!
The staff was not only very friendly but also provided us with tips for hiking tours.
Both Mairead and her sister were extremely friendly and welcoming and made our stay unforgettable. We will definitely come back when we have the chance!
