Ah, Portrush. One of my favourite places on Earth. I have had many a happy time there in the last 10-15 years and nearly always stayed at the Averest.
I know Sidney and Dawn quite well know, but we turned up unannounced and found they were away for a few days. Their daughters were running the place, and it seemed no different to my usual stay in any way. They know their stuff
It's the first time I've stayed in room 7 but it was wonderful. Big, roomy, plenty of power points and the best harbour view in the world.
My girlfriend has not stayed there herself before, and has not been in Portrush for 20+ years, but she was charmed by the place, and it was without a doubt the most homely and comfy hotel we stayed in on our travels around Ulster.
Breakfast was also a joy - a proper "fry", unlike some of the establishments we stayed in.
We will be back, I know that for sure
