We were on a cycling tour and the hotel welcomed us and looked after our bikes. We had a good choice of beer and lager in the bar. The rooms were very good, comfortable with plenty of space and a good shower. We had a meal in the pub in the night and that was very good as was breakfast. In a really good location right in the centre of town.

Visited a while back - food was quick, hot and delicious! The pulled pork Burger was ordered by myself and I really enjoyed it. Chips are also very nice and chunky! Everyone enjoyed their meals and I will be visiting again! It's also reasonably priced - always a bonus being a student!

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room. Unfortunately our first night was a Saturday and our room overlooked the high street. We didn't get any sleep until 4.30 am because the local taxi drivers congregate at the bus stop right underneath our window. The screaming drunks and the chitter chatter of the taxi drivers were sending us crazy. The next night, Sunday was as quiet as a mouse. We enjoyed good food here and would go back but not on a Saturday!!
Carmarthen Council take note, move those taxis.

Room Tip: If it is a Saturday book a back room.

First time visit which was selected due to a very attractive room rate with breakfast. Hotel is sited close to several others in one of the main thoroughfares of the town. Parking is available after 6pm on the main road and close to hotel. A small car park is also quite close.
Rooms are reasonably spacious and clean and tidy. The TV is a little small and a bit high, free wifi is available but can be weak on top floor. Tea/coffee facilities are in the room. Breakfast was very nice, with a full 'Welsh' available. Unfortunately, mine took 35 mins to arrive after i had emptied a very small pot of tea, which was disappointing. No toast or a top up of tea was offered. The evening menu was nice and varied and a quick peek at other diners tables showed several tempting meals. The chicken curry was quite hot but lovely and reasonably priced. Real ales are offered and of excellent quality. Service was in the main very good and helpful. Will definitely book again.

Room Tip: away from main road

Three of us arrived at The Rose & Crown for breakfast at 8.10 am this morning.
As we arrived there were cleaners everywhere mopping and sweeping, no one said anything to us or offered any service.
Considering they open for breakfast at 8 you would think they would have had everything cleaned and prepared for service to begin promptly. But of course everywhere has there bad days so that wasn't really the problem.
The problem was no one came over and even offered us a cup of tea or coffee while we waited or to apologise that things were running a bit behind; which would have been completely fine with us as we would have been happy to wait a bit longer if only we had been approached and made aware of the fact they weren't ready to begin serving yet.
There were a number of staff dotted around, and all them pointedly not looking at us. Even the woman who was the apparent manager on duty did nothing besides glance over sporadically and then carry on pottering around with glasses on the bar.
We waited for at least 10-15 minutes and still nothing.
Then we decided to leave and search elsewhere, as we were leaving there was still no contact besides a cold stare and no apologises for the missed service.
Over all not a nice, warm and welcoming atmosphere as you would expect; this is not the first time I have received sub par service from here.
Will most definitely not be coming here again and would advise others not to also.
