Skipton Market is a great place to look around and buy. On this occasions bought gloves, socks, shoulder bag and some very tasty cheese. Well worth a visit. Spend time browsing.

A brilliant market, we made several purchases at very good prices.
Not enough time to have a really good root.
Would definitely recommend a visit.

If you love markets this is the one for you. It is located both sides of the high street, and has ample parking nearby. I was surprised by the huge variety of goods. It had stalls selling everything from telescopes to local produce. There are also lots of bargains to be had.

Opening four days a week, this market is without doubt the best for many, many miles. Two enormous car parks ensure that there is plenty of places to park. Saturday is the best and busiest day of the week, but the crowds make the atmosphere. Lots of cafes, coffee shops and eateries including a great weatherspoons. The stalls range up both sides of the Main Street and sell everything from butcher to bakery, clothing to greengrocery and much more. Allow yourself at least two hours and if eating allow three. A truly great day out, don't forget to visit the castle.

This is definitely something you won't/can't miss if you are visiting Skipton because it is open for at least 4 days per week, so you will run into it sometime, as it takes over the main street. There are lots of stalls all along both sides of the street, most with tent coverings so you can escape the rain. There are good deals in many of the stalls, if you have the baggage space to take away souvenirs and gifts with you. There was a selection of nice looking food and produce when we were there in late May, and we found some good deals on things like leather goods. Clothing looked reasonably priced but there was, of course, nowhere to try it on. This isn't the type of market where everything is handmade or local, but it was fun to look and try to find the best deals.
