Very impressive hotel, well appointed and in a delightful setting, it cannot fail to impress!
The rooms are spacious and well presented in the main building, with tasteful furnishings.
The staff are most welcoming and obliging to make your stay memorable.
The breakfasts were adequate and the selection varied, but the portion sizes of the traditional breakfasts were small, the quality was good.
We did dine at the hotel; the restaurant was not very atmospheric and did not enhance the experience. Unfortunately, we were disappointed the the meals we selected, which had to be returned to the kitchen.

Dear Peter M,

Thank your for your review of The Alverton Hotel.

It's great to hear you found the setting delightful, the furnishings tasteful and the staff welcoming. As you mentioned it is a great base to tour Cornwall with the location being so central. I will pass your comments regarding dinner onto the Food Service Manager and Head Chef and look into this further.

With best wishes

Amazing room, beautiful surroundings and really easy to walk into town.

The room is in the new courtyard, so you have to walk up a slope from the entrance, but it’s really worth it. It’s a shame we were only there for 2 nights.

Situated on the NE edge of Truro in a converted convent lies The Alverton Hotel. An imposing & impressive building housing a grand hotel. Staff are friendly & rooms exude style & quality. Meals on offer include upmarket style & quality with price tags to match alonside more reasonable fare. Restaurant staff are attentive without being intrusive. Hotel prices are top end for Truro to but offers can be found. Only real downside is the steep slope from the car park to the entrance, which can be difficult when managing luggage.

Well, what can I say. Stayed a few times. Food's excellent. Love the specials in the evening for their fresh fish. Breakfast super too. Eggs benedict lovely. Bar staff very attentive. Ben is super friendly and probably the most affable bar man ever.

I have been visiting this hotel for an event we organise at the same time each year, for the past 4 years, and have been impressed each time. It is an extremely comfortable hotel with high quality, tasteful furnishings. This time i was treated to a wonderful room, with a massive comfortable bed and good tea and coffee making provisions - highly prized for someone who is 7 months pregnant and has just driven for 5 hours. The rooms are always warm, but not too uncomfortably so, and are well stocked with toiletries. The breakfast is also great with copious amounts of tea and coffee and a good selection of well cooked local produce. Brilliant hotel, outstanding customer service, all of the time. Well done yet Again!
