After loving it so much last year we returned again, but this time booked direct with Yelloh! The accomodation was better & the prices more reasonable, plus we could use kids' club. The pool is massively improved, you no longer hurt your feet walking back from the slides, & the indoor pool, albeit smaller now is better for young children.
We had even better weather & a fantastic pitch so that really made it for us. Brilliant & very recommended again, had a fab time!

First of all, the place was not easy to find, you have to go through perros-guirec up towards ploumanc'h through a long windy road , so just keep going.
We stayed as a family on a sun holiday, nanny, couple and kiddy, we had a 3 bedroom caravan , the apartment appeared tidy enough but we still had to go over it again. We were with Eurocamp who were never available when they stated but if you left a message they eventually came over. However the lovely ladies at Canvas were always there and helped us enormously.
The accommodation was overgrown with grass, the only one like that in our surrounding area!! and we had an issue with insects biting , it was dealt with but only partially 2 days before our break ended .we couldn't eat outside or open the doors because of the heavily overgrown grass and insects .We also had an issue with people dumping rubbish in our bin which you had to empty yourself and it was a bit of a trek .There is no TV but ours had a partially working ipod docking station. The small room with bunk beds had a urine soaked smelling mattress which we stored in a cupboard but the room smelt so our little one slept with nanny or us. Kitchen had a microwave but the stove is very slow, if several things are cooking at once, a 20 min meal would take an hour to cook. Don't use the sink or flush the toilet if someone is in the shower !!
On site there is a laundrette, mini shop, mini newsagent, several restaurants, a spa. The prices in the mini-shop are a bit higher than is normal. be aware you cannot buy paracetamol in these places you need a pharmacie, so take your own .
For some reason the area was very humid and damp so even though it was warm clothes didn't really dry unless in full sunshine, so we did need to visit the laundrette which was easy to use.
There is an indoor pool and outdoor pool, of which the photo's look much better than the real deal. The indoor pool was heavily treated and we all had severely bloodshot sore eyes after use. There is a lack of supervision with older children throwing tennis balls etc around which gave some little children ( and me) a nasty hit. Bomb diving etc... but it's all fun until someone gets hurt and it's inevitable that there will be a serious accident unless the management do something. The shower areas at the pool had slimey gunk in the drainage bits, and the doors are very heavy for children going for a toilet visit , my little one had the door slam on the foot leaving a nasty abrasion.
We tried the mini-golf which was reasonably priced and fun. They have a playground and 2 bouncy castles, again frequented by older children hanging around , which intimidate the little ones.
The bar has evening entertainment which was of a mixed variety from music to magic shows, so something for everyone, they had a latin type music night which was really good. When the bar closed they opened a mini disco which was ok, but it had no air-conditioning or enough cooling fans and it got very claustrophobic,so it was good but could be better.
The spa had quite an expensive array of treatments for what it was so we bypassed it, also it had a no children policy and no creche, so could how a family or single parent with kids indulge themselves ?
There are rocks all over the place as decor, and of course children want to climb, mine had a nasty fall, the staff were very helpful, but you need to watch the little ones. One day there was a race which meant the road outside was blocked off, there was no notice from the management in the bar or other prominent places so people were stuck inside for 3 hours as that went on.
At the park entrance, turn left and you can take a coastal beach walk alongside the many big rocks, lovely for a picnic.
The area was nice, we went to the local ploumanac'h beach NOT perros-guirec which was too touristy. We ate at a nice restaurant called Mao, they only take cash and specialised in seafood. They were certainly cheaper and nicer than the food on-site. Further down the road we went to other beaches which were not overcrowded and the children loved catching crabs etc in their little nets. There are several boat excursions to islands, we went to by paimpol and visted ile-de-brehat, you can also stop off at the island on this one so go early !!
We also went a biscuit place that had lots of lovely souvenir type items, then went to the supermarket mentioned below and found a lot of the same items markedly cheaper !!

There are a lot of lidls and other supermarkets locally, the best one we found was turn right onto the main road and keep going straight and on the left about 3 km down on a roundabout
is a nice big supermarket which is CLOSED ON SUNDAYS.

The local delicacies are crepe's and galette's beautifully down and ice-cream that is caramel au beurre sale ( salted caramel) which everyone liked

We had fun because we made the best of it. But there were certain things lacking that did bring it down and our eurocamp reps gave the appearance of not being interested. If I had paid full price I would have been really upset. However it is a lovely area to see.

Just come back from second visit here. The pool facilities have been improved since our last visit in 2009. This area now looks very chic with new decking and sun longers and much improved inside pool. This site is lovely - pretty layout and spotlessly clean facilities. The staff are very helpful and go out of there way to assist. ther are lots of facilities and activites for children and an on site spa and hamman for adults. Had the best facial and massage in there. Cost of food and drink onsite not ridiculous and there is no obligation to buy drinks at the bar if you spend an evening in there to see the entertainment. The jewel in the crown here is the location on the coastal pathway which is stunning and leads to lovely beaches at either end. Cant tell you how many times we walked this - even in the dark when the stars were so clear and the path had glow worms in the hedgrows - magical. Lots of lovely places to visit around and about. We booked direct with Yelloh which was very efficient both times and i suspect you may get a well located pitch doing it this way. Go - Enjoy!!

Room Tip: Deal with Yelloh direct and they will tell you which pitches are free and where they are located = w...

We found the site very clean and tidy. We stayed with Eurocamp in a 3 bedroom caravan. The girls were delighted to have their own bathroom as our room had an ensuite. The caravan was clean and tidy with all amenities working, fridge, microwave and oven. Both pools were open and the indoor pool is excellent for small children with various water fountains that can be ran through.
We ate off site but did have a pizza the first night which was tasty.
The scenery is amazing with lovely coast walks to small village one way and beach and restaurants the other way. The pink granite is spectacular and the boat trip to the seven islands is worth doing to see the coast from the sea. There is one tour in English a week which explains the bird life as well.

Visited the site through the Sun £9.50 holiday promotion. Didn't know what to suspect...after all, a hut at the bottom of a Frenchman's garden would have been good value for £9.50! Very favourably impressed. We were slightly out-of season, so some facilities were not up and running. Even so, the camp is impressive: pleasantly landscaped, small but well-stocked shop, simple restaurants, and evening entertainment that was varied and not brash. Plenty for kids to do, with good information service to allow tourists to get the most out of the holiday. The van was spacious, very clean and well laid-out. A rep was available to sort out any difficulties. Our only problem was a fridge that lit up but failed to cool anything down. This was not sorted during our stay, but we left it late to report the fault, as for the first two days we were fooled by the light into thinking it was working!
The chief attraction proved to be the stunning scenery. The campsite is unobtrusively placed close to the cliff edge, with cliff-top walks an unmissable treat. This part of Brittany has the most stunning scenery, with the curious pink rock formations a back-drop to every breath-taking view. We would recommed le Ranolien very highly to folks with young families and the more mature holiday-maker. No local theme parks or big tourist attractions nearby, so might not suit the out-and-out fun-seeker.

Room Tip: Even the basic vans on site are clean and well equipped.
