“Wonderful place to stay!”
Reviewed 13 November 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We stayed in Lakeside Lodge which is just outside Moylough during the summer this year & thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This three bed roomed (one en-suite) house is in immaculate condition, maintaining it's beautiful character features such as it's lovely fireplaces, while also having a modern kitchen & shower/utility room. Patio doors from the kitchen lead out to a sunny area with table & seats, where we enjoyed our breakfast looking over the lake. The views from the upstairs windows of the lake and the surrounding countryside are magnificent. The owners made us feel so welcome & ensured we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The house is beside their lovely family run pub giving you a real feel for the surrounding community as well as the lovely pints of Guinness!
Staying in this house is a very relaxing experience, beside a lake full of fish to catch, countryside to explore & is a great base for sightseeing the greater area. I would definitely recommend a stay here & hope to revisit in the future!

“Simply Homely Ireland Relaxation”

Just stayed at Lakeside Cottage for 3 nights and it was brilliant the thing I noticed first was the relaxing atmosphere of the house and the convenience of the cottage owners pub 10 steps from our front door. The owners Pat and Dymphna couldn't have been nicer they even made us a cake and put us milk in the fridge for our arrival. We used the house as a base and traveled to a variety of locations for St Patricks Day, we also visited the beautiful Connemara Coastline including Roundstone and and other beaches where I would up sticks and move to tomorrow. The house and pub are over 200 years old and steeped in history, Pat is the 4th Generation owner of the pub and house within his family which he believes maybe a lot older but he was unable to go back any further as before the 1900's licences were not required for public houses as they were known as Shebeen's at this time. Six of us shared the house very comfortably in two on suite double bedrooms and a room with two singles three bathrooms in total, the kitchen is well equipped and the dining area sits six comfortably as does the lounge. The location of the property is idyllic with it's views over the properties garden to the lake across the road it makes it a very relaxing place to stay. I cannot fault the place at all and I will definitely return some day. We finished each day in the pub for a couple of drinks and I can recommend the Guinness and Smithwicks Irish Red Ale after some great great conversation with the locals and Pat and Dymphna we struggled the ten steps to our front door and up to bed. Quality!!!!!!!
