“Secluded, romantic getaway”
Reviewed 8 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

My partner and I stayed in this cottage for 3 nights midweek in August. Prior to arrival Thomas emailed me various documents which were very informative and explained exactly how to get to the cottage, it was really easy to find. Upon arriving we were immediately greeted by Thomas how showed us around our accommodation and could not be more helpful. The cottage is quaint and is well described as luxury glamping! The bathroom is bliss and we enjoyed a few baths, plenty of hot water. The sleeping arrangements are fine and the bed is really comfy. The interior is decorated beautifully. The hot tub is brilliant and the views are amazing, especially when their horses come over. We used the BBQ and fire pit every day which I would encourage all to do, the seating area outside the cottage is also lovely to use. I would recommend the local pub, we walked over the sty through the field one evening to get to the pub (as suggested by Thomas), the food was AMAZING and service was brilliant. The cottage is located well in terms of attractions, we visited Cheshire Oaks one day (designed outlet village) approx. 50 mins away, and also Chester town another day (40 mins away). Both were lovely days out. The only thing I would say is that due to its location the wifi is non existent - but this was not a major issue as we had internet access to check emails etc. when we went out for the day, and felt nice to be cut off from the world in the evenings at the cottage! Overall this mini break was a bargain and I will recommend to all.

Thanks for your lovely comments, and nice to hear that the horses came visiting! Sorry to hear though that the wifi wasn't working for you....occasionally the extender needs to be re-booted. Soon we hope to have superfast broadband - but I'm not convinced that will help our guests to enjoy the chill out location and views! All the best

“Lovely little cottage”
Reviewed 6 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Visited The Bothy with a friend over August Bank Holiday for 2 nights. Easy to get to, and less than 30min drive away from Llandudno, Conwy etc (down the A55). Owners Thomas and Amanda very welcoming, as are the kids (who baked for us!) and the puppy Ted. Cottage comprised of a little kitchenette with all the essentials, sofa bed (incredibly comfy), TV & dining room furniture. Downstairs there's a luxury bathroom which is lovely and very peaceful. Outside there's a nice covered gazebo and couch, eating area, luxury bbq, fire pit and a wood fired hot tub with amazing views. Wood provided for £15/load. Owners also provided a guide book with lots of things to do in the local area. All in all would definitely visit again and recommend to others.

“The perfect getaway!”
Reviewed 3 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

I stayed in The Bothy for two nights with a friend during August bank holiday and we couldn't have asked for much more!

Such a beautifully quaint cottage, ideal for two people, plus the hot tub was incredible.

Thomas and his family are a real pleasure, plus their young son even baked for us which was a lovely touch.

If you're looking for somewhere to escape to but still want to be within reasonable distance of civilisation, this is perfect for you. We made it to Llandudno and Conwy within half an hour by car via a lovely drive along the A55.

We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome if they tried - I'd recommend this place to everyone!

“Welcoming, relaxing and perfect for a weekend break”
Reviewed 29 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We went to the bothy for a last minute weekend away. The location was perfect, within driving distance to local amenities and a short walk to the local pub.
We will definitely return in the future. The hot tub was great, we rang ahead to ask for it to be heated up and had no problems re-lighting in the morning. Great views looking all around, especially from the hot tub. Perfect to watch the sun set with a glass of wine.
We had no intention of having a bbq but ended up using it at all opportunities...made a top notch bacon sandwich in the morning!
The owner couldn't have been more welcoming or their little dog who popped round to check we were ok in the morning!
I would definitely recommend a stay here and we will be back in the future.
