“Fantastic quirky little place, highly recommended”
Reviewed 9 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We enjoyed a short Fri-Mon break here at the beginning of July. The room is great, very basic but very well laid out. It has a pull out bed which sounds awful but its actually very nice and comfortable, there is a small table with two chairs, a sink, microwave, hob cutlery and crockery.
There is a TV which picks up plenty of clear channels. The bathroom is actually underneath the bedroom with a really nice roll top bath and the usual fitments with plenty of hot water available on demand. The owners Thomas and Amanda have obviously spent a lot of money on the refurb of this little building and the standard of finish is very good. There is a covered seating area outside with nice rattan furniture with great views of the hills and a fire pit with wood supplied.
The wood burning hot tub is just outside, once the fire is stoked up it doesnt really take too long to get to 40* and stays warm for ages. Theres also a large gas BBQ outside which cooks some really good food. Speaking of which, make sure you ask Thomas for a breakfast hamper. It comes with juice, bacon, eggs, vine tomatoes, freshly baked bread (by Thomas) sausages etc oh and a nice bottle of wine too haha.
The place is nice and quiet with a local pub just across a field and the locals are very friendly.
Thomas and Amanda are lovely people and could not do enough for us, they really made our stay worthwhile, their twin boys are great lads, one of them baked us some shortbreads just because he felt like and it was presented with fresh strawberries and garnish. We would definitely recommend a stay here you wont be disappointed.

Thanks so much for your informative and complimentary comments. We have worked hard to make a stay at The Bothy a unique experience and feedback from our guests has been great! The Bothy is the kind of place we always wanted to stay at ourselves, but could never find (a bit of fun, lots of character, kind of glamping with an edge of luxury!). It's great to now be able to offer this to others. Hope to see you again soon. Thomas&Amanda
