I organised this trip for a group of my friends over the Easter long weekend and we weren't disappointed. Maintru is a beautiful little hamlet with stunning scenery, perfect for those who like to get out and about for a walk, run or cycle. We are a pretty active bunch so La Grange was perfect, the grounds are huge so we could throw the rugby ball around, play badminton, croquet and bunch of other games - the games, bikes etc were all provided with the property. We also like a bit of downtime and La Grange is stocked with books, boardgames & DVD's and has a really well-stocked kitchen in terms of utensils, pots and pans etc - we did a lot of cooking and baking. It wasn't cold but the boys had a lot of fun stoking the fire and the beds and couches were all extremely comfortable. Water pressure in the showers was excellent too and the bed linen and towels were all provided. We were able to drive to Dieppe with ease, and Monet's gardens in Giverney for a really nice day trip which I'd highly recommend. Colin was wonderful to deal with, very helpful and a genuinely lovely man. I would especially recommend La Grange to families as there's loads to keep kids entertained and also to groups of friends in their late 20s/early 30s who can both enjoy and respect the property as it's a beautifully maintained 17th century farmhouse on well-kept grounds.
