Maybe it's the weather, or the bay across the street, but we enjoyed ourselves here. The staff were friendly and efficient, our meals were really good and tasty, and a nice variety of drinks. Given that some of the other restaurants take advantage of the lack of competition and serve ok food, this place has done well for itself. Remodeled and looking good!

Sorry to say they should have spent more money on the chefs and less on the refurb definitely won’t be back. Food was very poor in its taste and how it was served up 2nd rate.

This restaurant is under new ownership and is called the Kitchen and Patio.
I have reviewed this already. They have outsourced everything but the cooking to the guests!

The worst Seafood Basket for 2 I have had in my life.
Everything was frozen and just thrown in the deep fryer.
There were no tempura prawns (instead frozen prawn cones), the salt and pepper squid was non existent (deep fired crumbs with about 1 piece of squid). The fish and chips were under cooked and soggy. The tablespoon of coleslaw salad looked like it was a week old and all for the bargain price of $55. This is not acceptable and the food is false advertising (prawns and squid). This was my 5th meal here over the past 3 months, all have been very average and overpriced, but this was the worst, seriously how can you stuff up deep fried food.... I am a local and will be telling the world. Remember Shoal Bay is a seasonal destination. Get real Chefs and pick up your game. Will not return !!
