Like others before us, booked through RCI. Shabby, tired, run down, and DIRTY. The reception staff friendly & helpful at all times. Room recently redecorated and re-fitted but problems with hot water (twice) and refrigerator quickly fixed BUT should have been spotted and fixed prior to our arrival. Terraces were un-swept, tatty and no terrace furniture. No cutlery or crockery, just a kettle, 4 glasses and cups & saucers. No toaster, microwave or any means of preparing food but we did have a dining table & 6 chairs to sit at. Don't really know why!!!! A/C old and tired. TV likewise and kept losing program. Sofa & chairs although newish not comfortable to sit on except for short times.
Pool area was disgusting and pool area toilets even worse. Pool water was so murky you couldn't see the bottom although it was only about 4 ft 6 ins deep. I did jump in just once and got out even more quickly when I saw at close range all the bacteria floating about. At NO TIME did we see or hear any kind of filtration system in operation. In our opinion it should have been closed for health safety reasons.
Restaurant not too bad, but did give my wife food poisoning due to her having a severe allergy to shellfish and them getting our order wrong. Sweet & Sour Prawn instead of Chicken. Luckily after 24 hrs in the wonderful Pattaya Bangkok Hospital all was well.
Resort clientele as far as we could tell was 100% Russian except for us. No other English speaking voices heard during our stay. The only area of resort that seems to get any attention is the Front Lobby which is polished constantly
The Beach does not exist except at low tide and is filthy, full of rubbish, plastic bottles and the calling cards of packs of feral dogs that roam all over it. Horrible!!!!!!!
Despite what their website and RCI reviews say, there is absolutely nothing to do in the immediate vicinity and getting transport to and from the more northern part of Jomtien Beach can be a major problem.
Despite the people being lovely and friendly we think the whole area of Pattaya & Jomtien is awful. The drains stink, there is rubbish everywhere and really is an aura of downmarket shabbinesss and tiredness about the whole place once you look beyond the promised glitz of the new condos being built everywhere, which are principally aimed at the new booming Russian market.
Bottom Line...................Don't go there, that is Pattaya, Jomtien and especially Sigma Resort.

We booked this trip through RCI, a timeshare. Every New Year my boyfriend and I travel and we look forward to this after 11 long months of hard work! But this trip was memorable in a different sort of way... not only were we greeted with obvious disdain, but our room was dirty and did not even contain such basic provisions as a bath towel. The shower had broken tile everywhere, the bedrooms had cracked mirrors and missing bed linens and the beds were unbelievably hard. When we requested towels at the front desk, the associate rolled her eyes! 6 hours later, we finally rec'd our towels. Needless to say, this wasn't our first issue with the resort staff hospitality. We also booked a tour, with a bus that never showed up, and when we asked the concierge to help us contact the company to find out what was going on he simply told us that the phone number was out of the area and could not be called. When we offered to pay for a phone use, he walked away! Who does that?!? The tour company was booked by the resort!!! And when we asked a second staff member to help us, he picked up the house phone and dialed out without questioning a thing.

Breakfast can be included with your stay, but you'll get way more for your money outside or in the town.

Location - nice strip of Jomtien Beach, but fairly far from a lot of Pattaya's main attractions and nightlife and markets. Much better off staying North a bit.

In the end, we only stayed 4 days of the 14 we had booked, at Sigma. We ended up paying considerably less money p/night, for a second resort (Areca Lodge) in the heart of Pattaya. The amenities of Areca Lodge were a vast improvement from Sigma Resort too; with 2 pools, a full spa, and much much more.

I will never recommend Sigma Resort to any fellow travelers. The location and amenities are not worth the price, and the service was the icing on the cake and prompted me to write this review.

Room tip: Don't stay here - anywhere else is better!

We got a week's stay free through Mahindra membership. We had got a hotel room only as it was a free week we got when we bought the Mahindra membership. We upgraded it to one bedroom apartment by paying 500 baht which was very well worth it. We got a spacious bedroom and a drawing and dining area with Microwave and toaster. The living area had a sofa with bed which was also OK.
We found the location very good as it was little away from the main city hustle bustle and yet not too far flung. We easily would get the local transportation at time of the day to go to main happening place for 100 baht.
The accommodation was spacious and had a lovely view of the sea from the bedroom and the living area. It was very well lit too.
The pool is big and not crowded. The hotel is very quiet and peaceful. There is a beach right opposite where my kids could do fishing and also wade in water. The food is very reasonable and very well prepared at their restaurant called See Sea restaurant.
The only issue we faced was that the front desk staff could not speak very good English and it was a challenge communicating with them.
We found the place to be really good to stay in with small kids. Kids enjoyed the view, pool and sea a lot.
All the rooms are sea facing.

As a member of RCI, I was originally happy to find this hotel claiming being on Jontiem Beach. It is actually located in Najomtien Beach which is about 4.5 km from the center of Jontiem area. It is so far away that the public transportation is rarely available unless you walk between .5 and 1 km to get to the beach area. It is not rare either that in the evening when returning from the bar areas, the driver drops you at 1.5 km from the hotel with no other option than to walk. The beach in front of the resort is ok providing you are there at low tide otherwise you will be on the sidewalk.

We were staying in one of their largest suite with semi kitchen, dining area, living room, and 2 bedrooms plus water room. The rooms are spacious but need a lot of refurbishing. The living room is furnished with a red leather couch with 2 matching chairs and facing an old 18" TV with extremely bad reception. The chairs of the dining area would require some reupholstering. The bedroom were very comfortable and clean. I have to admit that the room service was doing a very good job.

The front desk staff in general is not very affable and not the most helpful either because they are not fluent in English or because they are simply more preoccupied by chatting with each other.

Security is definitely lacking. Doors going to balconies in the room cannot be locked. When you leave your keys at the front desk, it might stay on the counter all day unattended. One evening, I returned quite late and my keys was on the counter, no staff around with 3 other keys.

I did not used any of the facilities because I was warned early of the bad service and food at the restaurant it would be unfair to comment. I preferred going to the main beach so did not use the pool either. It was spacious but not well attended. Each time I was leaving, it seemed that the area was empty.

I found that even if the hotel is promoting wi-fi, prices were about 3 times more expensive than Internet cafe. Keep in mind that there are also lots of establishments that provide free wi-fi access.

I would not recommend this resort mainly for the remote location. Staff service is inconsistent: some were very helpful and others were lacking in efforts. The information desk was never attended and no one could really assist you on tours other that directing you to a table loaded with russian tours.

Just came back from one week at this resort. The prize was good, the service was excellent, the free buffet breakfast was very good as well. Our room was big but definitely needs remodeling. The maid was excellent and it was very clean everyday. The food at this resort is also excellent and cheap. While there you must go visit the "Floating Market" which is not far to walk. The resort is also right on the strip, the beach across is not great but we sat around the pool and they have very comfortable chairs to lay on. They do have internet computers that you can use...80 Batts for 1 hour which isn't bad or you can do the 1/2 hour too.It was a great week, nothing to complain about and would go back.
