“A beautiful villa, in a stunning location”
Reviewed 5 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

A friend and I spent a week at Villa Bergolo and discovered it was every bit as beautiful as it seems on the pictures... in fact, it was even better.

From the pool, which from experience is larger than at many villas, and the various loungers and sunshades around it; to the multiple terraces you have to choose from, with each equipped with a range of chairs, benches and tables; and then fabulous, large 'farmhouse' style bedrooms with very modern en-suites - Villa Bergolo was an amazing place to stay.

It's location, the perfect mix of stunning views whilst being only 10-minutes from villages and towns, was ideal and the owners could not have done anything more to make our stay both comfortable and enjoyable.

We would highly recommend wine tasting at Isolabella della Croce, which was kindly organised by the owners for us, and would suggest people take advantage of an offer to walk the grounds and hear about the history of wine making in the region as well as how environmentally 'kind' techniques are being used today.

We met some friends of the Villas owners whilst at the wine tasting, who we got on very well with, and so promptly invited them to a BBQ at the Villa the next night. Lee and Deana joined us too, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time.

You do not get a true sense from this website as to quite how luxurious and well equipped Villa Bergolo is.

The house has been refurbished to a very high standard and had everything we could need for real comfort during our stay. The kitchen has a large, range cooker; dishwasher; and enormous fridge and freezer cabinets.

All in all - you really should choose Villa Bergolo for a perfect time away.

Liked best: The Villa & its grounds - truly spectacular.
Liked least: The 1.5 mile approach road to the villa - it is tarmac but is very narrow, though after a few runs and with some confidence it was fine.

Peter and his companion were lovely to have stay at Villa Bergolo. In fact towards the end of their stay we felt like we had friends staying. Towards the end of their holiday they invited us to a BBQ were we had a great evening watching the sunset whilst sharing life experiences and eating great food and drinking excellent wine. They both took excellent care of the house and left everything just as they had found it. We would love to have them back and be able to share more about this truly amazing part of Italy.

“Delightful palatial farmhouse”
Reviewed 13 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Beautiful swimming pool set in stunning countryside. The farmhouse is spacious and comfortably refurbished. It is homely and the owners are extremely hospitable and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our walks on the hillsides. The views of the mountains, vineyards and hazel groves are spectacular. We had some lovely tours of the Cuneo area and some delicious meals out in restaurants recommended by our hosts, reasonably priced. We look forward to returning to Villa Bergolo, it is a really unspoilt part of the world.

“Excellent place for a short or long vacation”

We had a great great time at Villa Bergolo. The place is fully renovated and offers a fantastic view of the valley. It is isolated on a hill, no one around to bother you, no peeky neighbours. Yet it is only 10 min drive from Cortemilia where grocery stores are available and a nice market on Friday. Alba is located 45min away, as well as La Mora. So for wine lovers and truffle lovers, this is an ideal place to stay.
The house is fully equiped with dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine. The pool is very nice and the two terrasses allowed us to eat in the sun at each moment of the day. The owners are charming people who will be as discrete as helpfull.
This was a great vacation for our family.

If you apreciate beautifully renovated old buildings, sun drenched swimming pools, perfect vista's, located within a stones throw of a fantastic food and wine region and freindly profesional people that can't do enough for you - this is the place for you!

The only drawback is saying goodbye. A truly wonderful experience.

“Beautifully renovated accommodation in a stunning location”

Villa Bergolo is in a stunning valley of hazelnuts over the hill from Barolo and the vineyards. The countryside is very attractive and peaceful. The farmhouse has been beautifully renovated, simply but with real class. The local small town, Cortemilia, has several good restaurants to suit all pockets. It is ideal biking and walking country, although walks are not well mapped and signposted.
Deana and Lee are warm and friendly hosts, whose patience we put to the test after having some luggage and our passports and mobile phone stolen at Milan Linate airport. Lee spent ages helping us get in touch with the Consulate in Milan who, when we managed to bypass the italian staff, proved helpful and efficient. We highly recommend Villa Bergolo.
