Our staying at the Hotel su Pillon in Diablerets - Switzerland was the worse experience we have ever had, we do travel very ofter and never experience so a bad service in our life.
RESTAURANT
The service as the restaurant was OWFUL.... a lady came asking if we would like soup or salad even without haven't seen the menu. We asked for the menu and she said that she has not time to cook, that she had already prepared what was ready and we have to eat that. Even if the mail confirmation from the hotel said they have a menu and 10 specialities to chose from. We said that we would like a fondue nevertheless she refuse, after discussing she said that she will make it but we have to take all the same meal otherwise is not worth.
ROOMS
I am allergic to cats and our pillows were all plain of cat hair, I supposed from the cat turning around at our table in the restaurant. The room had the sink outside the toilet and was dropping the whole night, we had to put many towels to avoid the noise.
RECEPTION
A very rude and unpleasant man at the reception who didn't stop to ask personal questions.
It is really a pity as the location is good, the lobby and room decoration are cosy, here is a problem with the management.

Sorry, but this comment is about defamation that may make a complaint.
- If the hotel has a cat mascot that attracts the sympathy of all customers and the author of the comment has an allergy to cat hair.
- If this person did not understand anything we tried to explain during his stay about the kitchen, which was clearly written on the panel of the restaurant menu.
- If our staff did not agree with him then all the other comments about the hotel justify his friendliness and sympathy.
What can we say? Only that we have never had such a worse comment.
This is the perfect example of obvious bad faith to which it would have been better to remain in silence.
This person must certainly have problems and be in great personal suffering for having had the need to throw his poison at this point. She has all our compassion. If his comment did him good, it will be at least a positive side for her.

Thanks to Francis and the team for a great week in the Les Diablerets area. Hotel du Pillon is a very charming hotel with a real family feel to it ... in the words of our kids: it feels like a home! We had the family room for the kids (3 kids) and a double room for the parents in the room across the family room. Food is very good: nice breakfast, and very good half board options (we stayed in 6 of the 7 nights ... simply because the food was so good!). The hotel also has a very charming living space where you can relax and read / watch television / or have a nice chat with some of the other guests. The ski slopes are about a 5 minutes drive from the hotel (no ski bus connection - so must drive your own car!); just one watch out: must have winter tires!!! cause the hotel is a bit higher up and if it is icy you won’t get up without those tires (or snow chains).

Net ... a great week for the family ... we already booked our next stay to go back a long weekend later in the season!!!

Hotel du Pillon is a "one off". It has been refurbished to a high standard by the owner who lives on the property and is your host. You feel more like a house-guest than a hotel guest. The food was good - high quality home cooking based on whatever the owner decides to offer that day. We were greeted with "What would you like for dinner?"
It is located in the rural outskirts of Diablerets with small, well maintained gardens and an extensive sun terrace.

Room Tip: South facing with balcony for best views and the sun

Very nice for relaxing time in the mountains. Outside deck for sitting (and dinner) with beautiful mountain scenery. The sitting room downstairs is lovely. there are twelve guest rooms: nice and cozy.

Room Tip: room was small.
