Ate here on our recent trip to Kandersteg. As we were staying in the Hotel Alfa Soleil, we were on a set 4 course menu - 2 choices of main course but the others courses the same. They changed every night as well as having a farmers buffet one night and a gastronomic 5 course menu another. All the food was cooked to order and to an extremely high standard both in presentation and quality.
The staff were all very friendly, some being family members and all were very helpful when dealing with my gluten intolerance issue. They provided gluten free bread and also adjusted dishes to meet my needs.
Wine in Switzerland is not cheap but they did have very good house wines which were very reasonable comparatively speaking.
Well worth a visit if in Kandersteg though suspect you would need to book as it gets very busy.
