We went to Saas fee for a week at the end of March 2012. The location of the Chalet hotel Annahof is awesome as the slopes are right at the back of the hotel. So easy to get to especially for the kids. Esprit staff took super care of our kids (10 & 6). The wait staff and the bar staff were very friendly. The atmosphere in the hotel was very cosy. We were in room 13 which was a bit cramped. The cleaning staff were not very consistent. The main grouse about this hotel would be the food. Breakfast was very average with not many hot choices. The afternoon tea was good with at least one soup and a few breads and cakes. The dinner was also pretty average. . Kids had a blast and want to go back there again!!!! (Their food choices were also not too great) Another thing was that the week we were at Saas fee was very warm This resulted in the rooms being over heated. So no proper sleep on most nights!!! IN fact my son slept topless for a couple of nights!!

Room Tip: On the firts floor go for rooms 12 or 14. 13 was quite cramped!

A super chalet hotel with a really good bunch of young friendly staff.
Loved the whole set-up of Esprit...childcare was fab - with both my 10 & 12 year old enjoying it all. My 12 year old was not at all interested in skiing (has special needs) and was made welcome in Snow club every day..
Barmen were great and kept us all entertained! The meals were excellent - no complaints at all.

Room Tip: Room 24 was on the second floor overlooking the piste...and although not very big (slept four) was p...

Just back from a week here. Lovely chalet with good, clean, comfy rooms. There is an excellent hot tub, steam room and sauna downstairs on the same level of the nursery and kids clubs. Our two boys (4 & 6) loved the childcare and cocoa club and had a fantastic week.

The staff were all hugely helpful and friendly and Kris the manager was excellent as were all of the nannies Jess, Beccy & Jodi. James the resort rep did a couple of great days ski hosting and the trip to Zermatt was excellent esp as the runs in Saas Fee are a bit limited. It is not necessarily quite the kid friendly / beginners resort it paints itself to be. There are some good nursery / blue slopes near the hotel but all accessible by button or T-bar (come on... it is no longer 1988) which our 4 year old found a bit tricky to do. There is only one blue down from the mountain which was closed when we were there that left a treacherous red that we had to be rescued from by the (grumpy) pisteurs. The £40 ski pass upgrade to Saas Grund was a waste of money for us, long walk or 30 CHF taxi trip to the bus station and then a bus trip so all in all a bit of a schlep but we looked on it as a contribution to the pisteuers drinks fund! All in all the lift system is pretty slow and I don't think I've ever been somewhere with so much walking from lift to piste.

Saas Fee generally expensive, £100 lunch for 4 (pasta / burger etc) not uncommon. The restaurant at the top of the funincular is dear but there is a cafe the level below which is pretty cheap.

There is an amazing ice cave at the top of the funicular which is also awesome, literally tunneled into the glacier which is a pretty amazing experience.

Flights with monarch pretty rubbish, cramped seats and the 2 hour wait at the airport for the next flight before heading to resort was v. annoying.

All in all, though an excellent trip, can't praise the staff more highly.

Nice hotel, comfortable rooms, we had room 11 with an adjoining bunkbed room for the children and were pleased with the accommodation although i gather some of the other rooms can be cramped. The Esprit staff and child care were superb and the only downside was the mediocre food. The skiing area is very high and the snow was spot on but the range of runs is limited, some of the higher blues are steep in places and no ideal for young children. Will travel with Esprit but probably go to larger French ski area.

Booked at Ski Esprit Chalet on 5th January for travel on 8th January with my wife. I must be the only person who was not aware that Ski Esprit caters for families with young children.
However not an issue as Esprit look after the children so well it was never a problem.
Chalet has been recently refurbished; our room was briliant for 2 people. I guess for a family of four it would be a bit tight! Great position for skiing (ski right back) and only a short walk in the morning. Food good; bar fine. Staff really helpful.
Saas Fee is a bit limiting for good skiers (you can do it in a day!). Restaurants good but really pricey. We had 7 days of sun. Overall very good deal for what we paid.
If you have young children just starting off, this is a really good place to go.
