Ideal for travel needs during visit. Had a quiet room, as requested. Breakfast buffet range ample for grade of hotel. A warm and helpful welcome both in reception and at breakfast. Hotel also only a short walk from town centre. Would stay again.

Room tip: To avoid possible traffic noise, request a room at the rear of the hotel.

We stayed there one night on the way to Zermatt. On the night before we have had bad experiences with another hotel in another town and the Speicher Restaurant
Hotel Europe happened to be short staffed at the time because of a skiing accident but in spite of that they went out of their way to help us and the accommodation was so impressive and comfortable we plan to go there again. On detail that stuck to mind is the extremely light touch of the toilet cistern button. Why can't we have them like this here?
Any attempt to handle resisting buttons can be painful or at times impossible for older people.
Thank you hotel Europe. See you again!

Room tip: I am not aware of any bad rooms

You might consider it for overnight stay on your trip to or from higher Alps (my case).
It has an excellent position just a few meters from a train station, and that's its major advantage.
On other criteria (room, value, service) it fares not that good.
You won't be locked out if you come over after mignight (that happened to me one time in similae swiss hotel) with precise and unambigious instructions send out by the host beforehand, but you are not getting nice room, bathroom or rich breakfast.
OK for one night on transit, but not for a prolonged stay

Old, tired and desperately in need of re-decorating. Room was a decent size but dark and drab! Only thing to recommend this hotel is the fact that it is right opposite the railway station and local bus station. It is also very close to the shopping centre, which was much better than I had expected, with loads of good restaurants and bars. Luckily, I only stayed 1 night as was travelling on the Glacier Express the following day.

This is an old building. Our room had a private bath with bathtub with handheld shower. The pole to attach the shower nozzle was only 3 feet tall so could not take a real shower. It had nice big bath towels but no washcloths. The room includes a mini-fridge, desk and chair, and TV. The hotel includes an elevator. The hotel is across the street from the train station. The train noise was noticeable the first night, not so much the second night. WIFI password is only good for 5 hours at a time. Complimentary breakfast was average. Breakfast room was stuffy. Several restaurants are within walking distance. Downtown Brig is interesting to walk around and makes a convenient place to stay while visiting the Zermatt area and for the Glacier Express train.

Room tip: Ask for room on opposite side of train station. If you want a shower, need to ask for room with shower.
